Buenos Aires, Argentina, May 21st, 2026 – Indie developer Montraluz, in partnership with publisher Tlön Industries, are proud to announce that the fifth and final episode of their cult favorite surreal body-cam psychological horror game Dreamcore is out now on Steam, Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles. Entitled Dead Mall, this concluding episode takes players through an abandoned 1980s inspired shopping center.

Dead Mall lets players loose on a nightmarish plaza with all the staples of childhood shopping, but contorted into an uncanny ordeal. Delve into its subliminal arcade, parking lot, food court, and bevy of isolated shops. Take a peak at Dead Mall in the launch trailer below:

“For this new Dead Mall map, I decided to go in a pretty different direction compared to the previous ones,” said Valentín Iribarren, Game Creator at Montraluz.

”After going through a lot of community feedback, it was clear that many wanted a much more open exploration experience without so many hurdles, and that’s exactly what this update is about. In this map, we’re moving away from puzzles. There are no complicated riddles or mandatory objectives to break your flow.

The idea is for you to fully soak in the atmosphere of the mall without any pressure. If you want to head straight for the elevator to move on, you can—assuming you can find it among all those corridors—but if you’d rather just wander around and explore every corner, the map is all yours. Basically, the game is now giving you the space to decide how you want to experience it. I felt it was time to take the stabilizers off and let curiosity lead the way, so I hope you enjoy this total freedom!”

Since Dreamcore initially launched last January, it has released two other expansions, The Playrooms and Liminal Hotel. In the year plus since its original launch, Dreamcore has amassed a 4.8/5 average review score from Xbox players and a “Very Positive” average Steam user rating across over 1,400 reviews.

Dreamcore sets players loose to explore a multitude of extraordinary, expansive worlds based around labyrinths of liminal spaces. Loosely inspired by the “backrooms” memes, Dreamcore offers a one-of-a-kind experience to probe these nonlinear realms, with each world featuring a unique puzzle players must solve in order to locate its exit.

Developed in Unreal Engine 5, each of Dreamcore’s worlds offers a hazy, twisted memory of the 1980s, complete with the grainy aesthetic of found footage VHS tapes. Navigate intricately linked structures and captivating landscapes, where every environment encourages unparalleled adventures and exploration. Each map presents a vast range of possibilities, delivering entirely distinct experiences.
