4th June 2026 (London) Rhino Rock Studios, a dynamic games studio dedicated to pushing the boundaries of gaming and technology, is excited to announce that today, 4th June 2026, marks the release date of their challenging, immersive, and fast-paced Sci Fi shooter OUTBLAST. Highlighting its dual presentation, it functions as a standalone PC game. At the same time, VR enthusiasts can put on their headsets to immerse themselves even further in the impending atmosphere of doom that stands between the player and success.

RETRO-INSPIRED – FUTURISTICALLY DEVELOPED

OUTBLAST began as a retro-inspired prototype, based on classic arcade shooters, and with a talented and creative team, given open licence and freedom to develop some fantastic ideas.

Flatscreen OR VR? You Choose!

Both choices offer the player a fantastic experience, but a different way to enjoy the game. Having the benefit of going between more classic flatscreen nostalgia, and then seeing a retro-type game inside a headset and feeling the immersion, definitely gives OUTBLAST great value to players. The replayability is also a major draw, giving players the chance to try both modes and compete for the top spots on the leaderboards.

MISSION DIRECTIVE

Take control of interceptor C11-28 in a relentless sci-fi arcade shooter where razor-sharp reflexes, tactical anticipation, and a touch of luck stand between survival and total annihilation. A rogue viral intelligence known as Typhon has consumed the system, corrupting entire districts and pushing the planetary core of Perseon-6 toward collapse after all conventional defences failed. As the last line of resistance, you must boost through chaotic battle zones, unleash devastating firepower against endless infected waves, and confront legendary enemies across five deadly districts. Collect data fragments to upgrade your ship, adapt to increasingly overwhelming threats, and fight for survival while climbing the global leaderboard in this fast-paced fight to save the planet before it’s too late.

THE GAME

Battle your way through five unique districts, each introducing tougher enemies and new gameplay challenges. Every district features its own boss, created by the rogue software virus threatening the core infrastructure of the city of Perseon-6. Unlock a range of upgrades, including enhanced weapons, shields, extra lives, and powerful boosts. Track your progress with achievements and compete against other players through multiple live leaderboards as you fight for the top spot.

PROGRESSION

As you progress through each level, the virus grows more complex and spreads into the next district. Visually, the game changes help build clever, environmental storytelling, allowing players to feel the increasing urgency of eliminating the virus. The 5 Bosses that the player will encounter are Hydra, Gorgon, Minotaur, Siren, and Typhon. Each has different abilities and difficulty levels, ensuring that game challenges build to a great crescendo at the END.

OUTBLAST is best played with a controller, and VR players will need a controller with analogue sticks. Play on SteamVR-compatible headsets, including Meta Quest, Valve Index, and HTC Vive.
