Press release:
STOCKHOLM – Sept. 10, 2026 – Today, Swedish indie publisher Raw Fury and Japan-based publisher Kakehashi Games announced their co-partnership with developer Medium-Rare Games to publish Dungeon Automata, an “autologic,” a new twist to the dungeon crawler genre, that invites players to visually script their party to master the complex labyrinth leading to the Tower of Corruption’s summit.
Players can wishlist and check out the game first-hand TODAY via a brand new demo on Steam.
In Dungeon Automata, players control golems’ behavior through programming. By analyzing enemy actions, optimizing party members’ blueprints and studying how they support each other, players will conquer the dungeon through trial and error.
Key Features in Dungeon Automata include:
The world of Syntaxia is in peril – Monsters have emerged alongside The Tower of Corruption, threatening the way of humanity. Pushed to stop whatever evil resides within, players must turn to their alchemy – synthesizing a powerful party of golems and programming them to autonomously challenge the complex labyrinth leading to the tower’s summit.
Decode the Dungeon – Each handcrafted level of the tower presents a unique set of challenges. Program blueprints to handle all kinds of cases and situations: from traps to bosses. Once the golems are sent into the dungeon to automatically explore, all players can do is watch, and repeat again and again to decipher the challenge.
Find improvements and enhancements – Find catalysts to increase the golems’ physical abilities and nodes that allow for new action or targeting logic, and customize parties by creating unique golems with the parts found throughout.
Much more than monochrome – The world of Dungeon Automata is an expressive fantasy world with beautifully handcrafted 8-bit pixel art. Accompanying the incredibly striking visuals is a powerful soundtrack by none other than the legendary composer Yuzo Koshiro, known for his true Genesis synth style.
Players can wishlist the game and download the demo on Steam today. More details about Dungeon Automata will be revealed soon.
