Press release:
BUENOS AIRES — Etermax, the Argentinian game development company behind hit mobile games Trivia Crack and Pictionary, closed 2017 with more than 350 million users, proving its staying power in an industry plagued by one hit wonders. The company will be launching 4 new games and a TV production in the upcoming year, while expanding its offices to Germany and Uruguay.

International office expansion
The mobile game company is expanding internationally, strengthening its presence in Montevideo (Uruguay) with a new Art and Development team, and opening a new studio in Berlin (Germany). This office expansion will complement the existing teams with highly-skilled talents, all sharing the same passion for gaming. The European studio will be located in the heart of Kreuzberg, Berlin’s most vibrant neighbourhood, with the objective to generate a mix of cultures and work with the best developers and artists in the local industry. Maximo Cavazzani, Founder and Chief Executive Officer commented, “Berlin is a global talent magnet, so we’re really looking forward to bringing a diverse team together to deliver unique experiences through our upcoming games.” The Etermax HQ, located in Buenos Aires, is also getting a makeover to accommodate the company’s rapid growth, already counting with more than 220 employees on site. The high-tech office will be inaugurated during the first semester of the year.

4 new games to come out in 2018
Thriving from the success of its previous trivia and word titles, Etermax sets the upcoming year under the sign of innovation with the launch of 4 new games and the integration of cutting-edge technology such as Augmented Reality. The firm is set to release a combination of strategy, MOBA, casual and ultra-casual titles, delivering a fresh take on its portfolio by including extra genres and reaching new audiences. Chief Product Officer Mariano Fragulia commented, “All our upcoming games are available in the Early Access phase so that we can take our users’ feedback into consideration to improve our products. This process enables us to deliver a stronger final version for the global launch.”

Trivia Crack animated series
The animated TV show based on the characters from Trivia Crack is set to come out in mid-2018. The series promises to bring the challenge of questions and answers from the game that has become a worldwide phenomenon to a new dimension, while maintaining its educative and playful spirit. Creative Director Ezequiel Mottillo declared, “Trivia Crack has already a strong brand presence in family audiences, however this new animated content allows us to spread the lifelong love of learning and exploration to the leaders of tomorrow. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to further develop these characters into a global animated series — full of fun and adventure — to spark wonder and curiosity in kids.”

Google Launchpad Accelerator
Etermax has been selected alongside top growth-stage startups from emerging ecosystems to take part in Launchpad Accelerator, Google’s most advanced training and mentoring program for companies in development. In its 5th edition, the internet giant will train 24 companies from 15 different countries with the help of over 30 teams across Google, as well as expert mentors from top tech companies in Silicon Valley. The six-month project will be kicking off next year on the 29th January at the Developers Launchpad Space in San Francisco, where three representatives of each company will follow an intensive two-week all expenses paid boot camp. Etermax will be represented by CEO and founder, Maximo Cavazzani, Chief Operations Officer, Simón Selva, and Chief Technology Officer, Gonzalo Garcia.
