Brave the Antarctic outdoors and the haunted Castle Rock, puzzle your way to freedom

Press release:
ROTTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS – September 4, 2019 – “We Were Here Together” has a release date – it will be released on October 10, for PC on Steam.

The latest entry in the We Were Here series is the largest game so far, starting out at the expedition base camp and taking players through a series of stunning outdoors environments leading up to a return to Castle Rock.

Can you work together with your coop partner to solve the puzzles of this digital escape room, and uncover the mysteries of Castle Rock?

Starting out at the research base camp, you’ll need to figure out a way to get to Castle Rock together.

Once you’ve overcome the frozen Antarctic wastes, you’ll find yourselves separated inside the castle itself, facing puzzles, secrets, and dangers.

The earlier games in the series have entertained more than 2,000,000 people, and We Were Here Together is the largest entry in the series so far! Don’t worry if you haven’t played the two earlier titles – each We Were Here game is standalone, so you can play them in any order.

There are several innovations in We Were Here Together which will thrill returning fans and immediately grab first time visitors to the inhospitable Antarctic mystery.

Even closer coop – you won’t always be split up from your partner this time. Explore together, swap roles in puzzles for a different perspective, it’s up to you! Just don’t get too comfortable… Castle Rock has some tricks waiting for you…

Features:
• The great Antarctic outdoors – puzzle outside Castle Rock for the first time, from the deceptively cosy expedition basecamp through imposing sub-zero valleys to breath-taking frozen caves.
• Gadgets won’t save you – but they might help! Figure out how to use new equipment like torches to solve puzzles and progress towards the fateful finale.

Also Project Lead Lucia de Visser says:
“This is our biggest visit to Castle Rock yet, and for the first time we get to introduce players to the picturesque Antarctic outdoors! We are also looking forward to sharing more of the history of Castle Rock, by fan request. Without giving too much away, let’s just say that there will be a significant reveal involving the Jester…”

The Story of the We Were Here series:
Whether or not you’ve played a We Were Here game before, you can dive right into any We Were Here title and start unravelling the secrets of Castle Rock, the sinister fortress at the heart of the series. Players take the role of Antarctic explorers confronted by this mysterious castle in the middle of the frozen wastes.

Forced inside by a terrible blizzard, it quickly becomes clear that this is no ordinary ruin… and that there is no ordinary way out.

You and a co-op partner will need to be each other’s eyes and ears as you endeavour to escape. Every puzzle requires communication to solve – you can talk to each other, or you can stay trapped forever.

Total Mayhem Games have big plans for their world of dark mysteries and complex conundrums. We Were Here is now available for a limited time on Xbox Live Gold! The series continues this October 10 on PC with We Were Here Together – revealing more of the story behind Castle Rock…

About the Developers
Total Mayhem Games started life as a 15 person team from the Dutch University of Applied Sciences. It was apparently the perfect mix of art, design and development students since their first project We Were Here reached a 92% positive rating on Steam.

The success of We Were Here led the team to pursue their dream of making games further – and so Total Mayhem Games was born. Building on their amazing start, their next game We Were Here Too firmly established the We Were Here series. The first We Were Here was later released on Xbox One, and the series continues to expand with the upcoming We Were Here Together arriving on PC this October 10.
