Volframe (an independent Polish studio) and Art Games Studio S.A. are today very thrilled and happy to announce that they have just released some new information and a brand-new video for their upcoming FPS horror/puzzle game “S.W.A.N.”.

In the coming year players will be able to check out a new horror – S.W.A.N., which plot story refers to the Chernobyl disaster and unknown diseases.

To commemorate the 34^th anniversary of the explosion at the Nuclear Power Plant, developers have published a special video introducing the game world. According to Art Games Studio S.A. the release of S.W.A.N. on PC is scheduled for spring 2021 and studio has plan to release title also on Nintendo Switch.

S.W.A.N. is being developed by Volframe – an independent Polish studio. The publisher is Art Games Studio S.A. which expands number of diverse and interesting titles in their portfolio.

This title refers to the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant disaster (Ukraine), which took place on April 26, 1986. To commemorate the 34th anniversary of this tragedy, the developers published on the Internet special and stylized documentary video material, which brings player into the world of the game.

“S.W.A.N. is an intriguing project that defies schemes. If we were to make some kind of genre classification, the best term here would be the psychological FPS horror with elements of logical game and science fiction.

Players can count on unique, full of disturbing and surreal elements story referring to both the Chernobyl disaster and the fascinating motive of unknown diseases” – says Jakub Bąk, CEO of Art Games Studio S.A.

The title of the game comes from the abbreviation which means Syndrome Without A Name and refers directly to unknown and very rare diseases.

The game will present the history of the secret program in the S.W.A.N. Institute located in the Exclusion Zone around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. After the disaster, the situation completely gets out of control, and in the next year a group of scientists organizes a research and rescue expedition.

As announced by the developer, the gameplay will focus primarily on exploration, solving puzzles, various interactions with the game world and discovering the plot.

“The idea for the game was based on two real elements, namely the disaster at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and diseases that remain a mystery to medicine. Therefore, the disturbing world in which players will enter, will be something completely unique and fascinating at the same time. Importantly, S.W.A.N. should particularly appeal to fans of S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Silent Hill and Amnesia games” – explains the founder of the Volframe studio and the author of the game, Przemysław Kostrzewa.
