LONDON – June 18, 2020 — Today the Tonic Games Group introduces itself as the new parent company to creative houses Mediatonic and Fortitude, and publishing label The Irregular Corporation.

The Tonic Games Group family boasts almost 300 people making games globally, seven locations around the world, five studios and two publishing offices, and is partnered with third-party studios in 14 cities across its brand family.

Tonic Games Group brings together a family of world-class developers and publishers with a core ethos to have a positive impact with both the games it creates and the way those games are created. Its goal is to find new ways to bring original franchises to the 2 billion people who play games today.

Born from the co-founders of Mediatonic Ltd., one of the U.K.’s largest independent development studios founded in 2005, Tonic Games Group currently has 27 games in active development across its family of studios and offices.

Among the Tonic Games Group brands, Mediatonic is the original company co-founded by Dave Bailey and Paul Croft in 2005. The studio is focused on original, mass-multiplayer game experiences and breaking the mold with weird and wonderful games across every platform.

Awarded “Best Places to Work: Mental Health & Wellbeing” by GamesIndustry.biz in 2019, it currently employs almost 250 brilliant humans across four offices, including its new headquarters, designed and built by Oktra, in the spacious 111 Buckingham Palace Road premises above Victoria Station. The studio is currently hiring for a variety of positions as it gears up to launch two titles in 2020.

Co-Founder Paul Croft says, “Mediatonic is a force of more than 230+ creative minds and the developer behind both partnered blockbuster titles like YAHTZEE® With Buddies and Gears POP! as well as original IPs like Murder by Numbers and the upcoming Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. After building up successful studios for the past 15 years, creating the unifying Tonic Games Group was the logical next step.”

Fortitude Games specializes in “handcrafting curious adventures” and is currently building its studio by partnering with exciting, characterful brands to create ultra-high quality games with a sense of humor. Its talented, tightly-knit team are forging a bold new path towards original games for the studio, crafting unique experiences with a darkly stylish twist.

Based in Guildford, UK, the company is led by Amateur Surgeon and The Sexy Brutale co-creator James Griffiths, has two games in development and is currently hiring as it moves through development on its first original game.

Also included in the Tonic Games Group family of creators is publishing label The Irregular Corporation. The Irregular Corporation is inspired by the different passions of players across the world and has been publishing unique and engaging games since 2015.

With a focus on releasing exciting new experiences across a variety of genres, The Irregular Corporation is a global team of industry professionals that use their experience to support independent developers and help realise the full potential of their games. Published titles include PC Building Simulator, Good Company and the recently announced Mars Horizon.
