Press release:
22 SEPTEMBER 2020 – Developer Con Artist Games and publisher Armor Games Studios are delighted to announce “The Last Stand: Aftermath“, the latest in a series which began with the beloved flash game The Last Stand in 2007.

The Last Stand: Aftermath aims to break completely new ground when it launches on PC in 2021, offering a fresh roguelite take on the series, whilst retaining the atmosphere that made the original so striking.

Players take control of a survivor thrust into a cataclysmic zombie apocalypse. In a unique twist, however, the survivor has been infected and must strike out to make the most of their final days by gathering supplies for those who will come after them, and hunting for the truth behind the renewed danger of the zombie virus, before they themselves succumb.

But when one survivor dies, the player will immediately take control of another, who will benefit from the progress made by their predecessors. The Last Stand: Aftermath looks to pose the question: how much can you give before you are gone forever?

Con Artist Games have launched a Kickstarter campaign today, which lets backers support the team as they take on the last leg of development.

Fans will be offered a plethora of ways to support the game with Con Artist Games planning to offer an exclusive beta of The Last Stand: Aftermath directly after the end of the Kickstarter campaign in mid-October.

“Aftermath is a culmination of years of ideas mixed with the series’ long history, so hitting all of those notes has been an exciting challenge” said Chris Condon, game director at Con Artist Games.

“It is important to us to deliver the best possible version of Aftermath to fans of the series, so Kickstarter makes a lot of sense to help us get to the finish line.”

The Kickstarter campaign for The Last Stand: Aftermath is live from today for 30 days. Players can back the game and receive a copy at launch for as little as $25, with limited early bird pledges available for $20.

About The Last Stand: Aftermath
You’re going to die, but not until you’re good and ready.
From the creators of The Last Stand: Dead Zone comes an all-new singleplayer roguelite action adventure. Infected by the affliction that ravaged humanity, you set out to explore the apocalypse and find hope for your fellow survivors. Even like this, you can still make a difference. Don’t give up.

Fight with the Infection
As the infection mutates your body, discover new and unexpected abilities that will let you decimate the undead hordes before they overwhelm you.

Explore and Craft
Explore a constantly shifting cityscape to find materials to craft new tools, weapons, and remedies. If you’re lucky you’ll find medicine, letting you roam for longer.

Roguelike Loop
Death is assured, but the story doesn’t end there. Venture out as a newly infected survivor again, and again, and again as everyone makes their Last Stand.

The Beginning of The End
With the promise of death ahead of you, you’re determined to make your last stand one for the record books: securing more supplies, and destroying more undead than anyone before.

Dead Man Walking
Humans are fragile, it’s rare one survives long out amongst the hordes alone. Luckily, this infection makes you something else, something more. As your humanity ebbs and the affliction takes hold, you’ll discover new limits and abilities you never knew were buried deep within your DNA. Utilize your newfound skills to scavenge for weapons and medicine, or the materials you can use to make them.
