Press release:
Barcelona, Spain – November 5, 2020.
The Spain-based indie games developer Abylight Studios and the US-based indie games developer Dummy Dojo are today very pleased and excited to announce that their hardcore runner “Ninja Chowdown” is now available for pre-order for iOS devices worldwide (“Ninja Chowdown” will be released on iOS on December 3rd., 2020).
Story
Donatsu is a cute chubby and agile ninja whose story you follow in Ninja Chowdown. He loves donuts more than anything, and trains at the Dough-jo: a donut shop at daytime and a ninja dojo at night.
Like every other restaurant in this world of warrior food clans, the Dough-jo is climbing to the top of the food chain of the food chains. A strong flavor breeds an equally strong fighting spirit!
Challenge
The adventure begins when The Traveling Rollnin’s leader, Sushi Sam, steals the Know-nut, the Doughnut of Ultimate Knowledge, from the Dough-jo. And no one but Donatsu is skilled and badass enough to get it back!
Ninja Chowdown was developed with mobile in mind: the thrilling experience of a good old mobile runner, just more challenging – and insanely tempting to pick up!
The controls, obstacles and goals in Ninja Chowdown are all simple and straightforward, but the exact opposite of boring!
The game of Ninja Chowdown is filled with Dummy Dojo’s vibrant, addictive gameplay and design, glazed with Abylight-style level of iOS game polish, and sprinkled with endless puns!
Features:
– Modern 2D pixel art aesthetic
– Food-themed story with an emphasis on donuts and ninjas!
– Short levels, thrilling and humorous (30 seconds – 3 minutes)
– 35 levels and 3 play modes
– Unique and funny characters
– Pets, clothes and weapons to customize your adventure
Haptic feedback
– Game Center achievements and leaderboards

The game will work on most devices with iOS 13 or newer, starting from iPhone SE.
“We decided to work with Abylight Studios because they had a great reputation in the games industry. Based on their catalog, we could tell that they take care of individual creators well rather than trying to garner a large quantity of projects. This is our first time working with a publisher, we loved the detail that the team at Abylight Studios went into when testing and assuring quality of Ninja Chowdown”, say Mark Ilog and Lenny Lam, the Programmer and Artist of Dummy Dojo.
“When we saw the artwork of Ninja Chowdown we were very interested. Once we tried the demo (at the time) – we were hooked. This first game by Dummy Dojo is a promise of the great future things that this team will bring to the video game industry, Abylight didn’t want to lose the chance to be part of it”, says Eva Gaspar, the CEO and Executive Producer of Abylight.
