Cambridge, UK – January 28, 2021.
The Cambridge-based independent games studio Late Night Games are today very excited and proud to announce that their free-to-play dystopian text-based cyberpunk RPG “Cyberpunkdreams” is coming to PC via Steam (for Windows, MAC, and Linux) on May 14th, 2021.

Set in the cracks between the glowing corporate monoliths of 2090s Ohio, players will carve out an identity as a schemer, a hacker, a suave socialite or a cybernetically augmented heavyweight on a mission.

Launching with multiple branching story arcs that encourage replayability, cyberpunkdreams will expand and grow organically over the coming months (and beyond) through free updates. As the seasons pass in the city, opportunities will change, new story threads reveal themselves and past decisions bear new fruit. Players will grow and change with every choice made, as they expand their network of contacts and knowledge of the city and its surrounding badlands.. Players ought not push their luck – life is hard in the big city, and bullets come cheap.

An adventure spread over thousands of interlinked story vignettes, cyberpunkdreams is set to launch with over 1.6 million words of prose, accompanied by thousands of pieces of bespoke comic-style art. Small choices can spiral into unpredictable and chaotic results. Success and failure are both part of the story, with defeats leaving marks physical and psychological, and success paying out the cold hard cash needed to buy clothes, gear, cybernetics, and more.

Accessible to players of all skill and experience levels, cyberpunkdreams promises dozens of hours of freeform solo roleplaying. Featuring deep character customization and inventory management letting players define what kind of human being could thrive under the cold neon lights of a grim future. Players can change how they are perceived through clothing, cybernetic augmentations or even how they present their chosen (and flexible) gender. The game is free-to-play, supported by microtransactions that can speed progression, but give no numerical advantages to players.

Late Night Games has been working on cyberpunkdreams since 2013. On launch, players will be able to jump in and explore a massive and dark sci-fi world nearly a decade in the making. Conspiracies will be unraveled, alliances forged and deadly battles fought in the streets of Cincinnati, starting May 14th.
