Bethesda’s E3 announcements were among some of the best this year for both gaming and franchise fans worldwide. Starting things off properly, Bethesda announced that since Doom made a triumphant return. So why shouldn’t another one of its classic franchises return as well? With that Bethesda announced: “Quake Champions”.
“Quake Champions” will be a sequel game to “Quake 4” (2005), and will feature a roster of unique characters, each with their own distinctive abilities—which will allow you to fight the way you want. While the trailer doesn’t offer very much besides a heavily intense battle between the humans and the cyborg Strogg, Bethesda did say that they would reveal much more about the Windows-based arena shooter at Quakecon 2016.
“The Elder Scrolls Legends” revealed itself with a trailer, and it’s nice to notice that there will be a single player experience for the collectible card game. Although it won’t be like “Yu-Gi-Oh”, “Elder Scrolls Legends” will offer a lot to the avid fan of TCG’s (Trading Card Games). As forthe gameplay experience, you can expect a lot of the same from the series as far as creatures, lore, and worlds is concerned. The style of gameplay is what will be differ from the traditional combat in “Elder Scrolls Legends”.
At the start of each battle, each player will start with three cards and one magicka, which is used to deploy cards. When deploying the cards, the player can have special abilities, which can alter the fields of battle. A card in one lane can attack another card in that lane, or attack their opponent directly. If either of the players takes enough damage, one of their runes will shatter. When this happens, the same player will deploy a card immediately.
Elder Scrolls Legends will have 5 gameplay modes:
– Story mode
– Solo arena
– Versus Battle
– Practice mode
– Versus arena
The beta for Elder Scrolls Legends is still up, so if you want to partake in the early version of the title you can sign up for the beta via Bethesda’s website.
“Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” is finally coming to next-gen consoles! Yes, that’s right Bethesda has finally remastered and updated the classic RPG from 2011! One of the newest features that the game will have is that it will support PC Mods! The game will shed its gloomy grey exterior and offer much more lush graphics, and terrain as the player explores the open world environment throughout Skyrim. Speaking of PC Mods, the developers have already stated that you can install Mods with just the tap of a button controller. The Mods will be listed by popularity and rating so you can install the best ones and use them to your heart’s content. Making Dragons more friendly, or even making new spells you can do it all with Mods just like in Fallout 4.
Elder Scrolls Online lifts restrictions
Bethesda is just serving up all it can for “Elder Scrolls” fans at their event! In addition to announcing the Dark Brotherhood expansion pack for Elder Scrolls Online, ZeniMax Online Studio’s also announced that it will be removing the level restrictions from the game this fall. You can finally get a piece of the action anytime you choose without being encumbered by your level. According to the developers, this is the first time an MMO has allowed players to do this.
Fallout 4 and Doom coming to VR
There wasn’t much on this detail for the event, but Bethesda has assured fans that both experiences with VR will be truly unique and satisfying to the player. While “Fallout 4” will apparently be a complete overhaul, Doom 4 may be just a tech demo much like “Final Fantasy” Vll was for the Playstation 3.
Dishonored 2: New location Kanaca the jewel of the south
Karnaca will be the primary city in “Dishonored 2”. For those unaware, Karnaca is the capital city of Serkonos, which is housed in the eastern portion of the nation and is at the southernmost tip of the empire. Seen as a major metropolis where cultures and customs from all over the empire are integrated into everyday life, Karnaca is heavily favored as a tourist destination for the elite and upper classes.
Karnaca maintains its own notable police force, the Grand Serkonan Guard, which serves as both the military and Urban protection. As for the new gameplay experiences, we’ll see the verticality of the city which allows Corvo and Emily to use some brand-new options in traversal.
Players will have new ways to be both challenged and rewarded for complexity in the game. Rolling storms and weather effects will change your experience in an instant. You can have your enemies hindered, but you will be affected as well. Skill trees will be added to let the player choose how they wish to play with Corvo and Emily. You can choose lethal, and non-lethal options for the characters to complete the campaign. Emily, receiving a serious upgrade since “Dishonored” seems to focus mostly on stealth, and utilizing traversal to catch up to enemies quickly.
“Prey” was finally announced by Arkane studios for 2017. Not to be confused with the cancelled Prey 2, this will be a first person shooter that appears to follow in the steps of the original game for PC and Xbox 360. Coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC next year. And with that said, which of Bethesda´s E3 2016 games and trailers made you really excited? And which games are you looking most forward to?
