Anonymous sources have told Euro Gamer that we can expect the Mini-SNES this Christmas, and we couldn’t be more excited. Although this should be taken as a rumor, we all knew this was coming eventually. It’s a little sooner than later, especially after Nintendo just put out the Mini-Super Famicom in Japan to match the Mini-NES that launched for the US on Christmas of 2016. These anonymous sources are claiming that the system is coming this Christmas, just as the last system did the year prior. There still isn’t any information on what games we can expect the console to come packed with, or if Nintendo will stick to the prior price point of $59.99 for the first retro released console the Mini-NES. We can dream though right? Hell yeah we can.
I can guarantee you that there will be at least 5-10 titles that will be exclusive to the console, a few of which should be multi-player such as “Mario Kart”, “Streetfigher II”, or “Street Fighter II Turbo” (since “Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers” is coming to the Nintendo Switch), “Castlevania”, and even some “Final Fantasy” or “Zelda” titles. These core games would help kick a huge demand for the anticipated launch. If they allow an adapter to play your old cartridges, we could even start seeing retro tournaments pop back up again, who knows?
And with that said, what game do you want to see make the list of the 30 for 30? And do you think mods will be possible?
