The Flash is set to zoom back into our hearts this month, and there’s a lot of new info for fans and newcomers alike. Starting things off properly we’re being given Jay Garrick aka. The Crimson Comet (which is another of The Flash aliases). He’s coming to Central City to warn Barry of potential hazards he may face, and to help him prepare for Professor Zoom, the new big bad.
Fans will also appreciate Barry being given a break in the love department, even though we know he’s destined for Iris West as his bride. Patty will be a new introduction to the CCPD, and will be helping Det. Joe West solves mysteries, and crimes as the season unfolds. In classic fashion, Barry gets close to Spivot and the two begin dating as the season continues.
The best news about all of this is we can still look forward to new meta-humans, the new Firestorm, and Wally West being introduced. As if that wasn’t enough, you already know there will be another #Flarrow crossover event this season, making it the third time. That’s the charm right?
If you love The Flash remember two things you can take as SPOILERS or not:
1. Tom Cavanaugh is returning this season in an unannounced role. Will he be Professor Zoom (Eobard Thawne dimension 2) or will be in flash back sequences? We’ll have to tune in to see.
2. Since there will be alternate time lines and time exploration, will Barry look into his own future with Iris, or try to help a friend and reverse Moira Queens death for Oliver?
3. In the golden age comics, Jay Garrick was more of a mentor to Barry since he was almost 60. Nevertheless, he found it tiresome like raising himself all over again. Will this new Jay Garrick be a supportive character or more of the same?
4. Lastly, John Wesley Shipp is still Barry’s dad on the show, but he was the original flash from the 90 show. Will we get to see him suit up again, and of so when? That would be a great alternate older Jay Garrick.
The Flash has a lot more planned than we can run with, and with more story than the first season coming we’ll get our money’s worth. Lastly don’t forget we will see Sara Lance resurrected on Arrow this season, and she’ll join Hawkgirl on Legends of Tomorrow. It’s unclear if many of those characters will get solo shows before the show begins, but if so who do you want to see? Booster Gold and Blue Beetle are getting a solo movie, which could be a set up for Booster Gold’s son Rip Hunter who creates the Legends of Tomorrow team.
