Today is a very good day for those who just happens to like books, gaming and video game culture. You see, I was just informed that James Desborough (don’t miss out on our interview with James!) has released his “Inside GamerGate: A Social History of the Gamer Revolt” book via lulu.com (It’s a 214 pages long paperback book). So the book could be all yours for 9,69 USD =) (Jay aims to review the book as soon as possible). That’s great news with no doubt. However, I would like to point out that there is no audio or digital version of the book just yet (at least not to my knowledge). Nevertheless, I’ve only heard good things about the book uptil this point. So I’m going to check it out asap =)
I’m going to pick up this book as soon as the audio version hits the market (I’m not too lazy to read, but I prefer to be able to do two things at once).
As for those who have no idea what the “Inside GamerGate” is all about, here’s Desborough’s description for the book:
“This book exists to record, for posterity, the events of Gamergate from the perspective of someone within Gamergate. There is a real danger that, what with the media bias against Gamergate, that the other side – the right side – will not get recorded. In the future, anyone looking back is likely to encounter an entirely one-sided version of events from people who have been acting very shadily. As a participant in Gamergate, that worries me. As a historian, that worries me. As someone who cares about truth, fairness and accuracy, that worries me.” – James Desborough
And with that said, what do you think about the “Inside GamerGate” book so far? And should we try to sort out a giveaway for the book? (maybe some signed copies by Desborough?) Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
