It is a real treat for all modern and retro gamers alike. From June 10th to 12th the industrial area of the old Warsaw Tramyard will hold the 10th edition of Pixel Heaven.

The event will present old, new, and upcoming games as well as host panels with international industry professionals. Visitors will have a great opportunity to learn more about the Polish gaming community and meet with both players and developers.

Pixel Heaven is proud to announce that Éric Chahi, the creator of Another World, will be one of the panelists during the event.

Another World was an absolute breakthrough in narration, gameplay, and esthetics, all done by a single developer. The Amiga title from 1991 is still famous for its innovative intro, gameplay, story, and graphics for which ric used vector assets and retro scope animations.

The game had no health bar or score, and the player was accompanied by an A.I. companion. Another World introduced a never-heard-before complexity of storyline and cutscenes – all that was created about 30 years ago and stored on 1,5 MB of memory, a size that in the current days would not fit a smartphone icon.

Another World has become a timeless masterpiece and a large milestone in the history of video games.

Éric’s latest game Paper Baast is developed by his studio – Pixel Reef. He will host the main panel of the 11th of June on the main stage of Pixel Heaven. The list of speakers will also include other wonderful industry professionals: Jordan Mechner, the creator of Prince of Persia and Karateka, and Martyn Brown, who is well known for his work at Team 17 on such titles as the first Worms, Alien Breed and Super Frog.

Besides panels, the 10th edition of Pixel Heaven will hold lots of other activities. One of such is Pixel Awards Europe 2022 – the largest competition for indie games in Europe.

The visitors of the event will be able to play all the nominated titles and attend presentations by Polish and global independent developers at the hands-on section and stages.

Fans of board games will find a great dedicated zone and retro games enthusiasts will be able to explore various arcade cabinets and vintage game consoles of all ages. All this and much more awaits you at Pixel Heaven 2022.
