I honestly never thought that i would write about this topic. But then again, i can´t ignore (nor deny) the fact that virtual reality = big business. In fact, it´s a billion dollar industry now. And you know what they say right?
The porn industry is just one step behind technology (they have stalked technology since the birth of internet, and even before that). And sometimes, the porn industry have even revolutionised the world of technology (or pushed the boundaries for what´s humanly possible).
For example, when internet was really, really young (back in the 90s). some very clever entrepreneurs came up with the brilliant idea to charge for webcam interaction over internet (cam sex, striptease and what not). And that was before webcams were a big thing among consumers.
But to get back on topic again, I’m going to fast forward to us back 2014 again. Ever since i tried virtual reality for the very first time back in the mid 90s. I just knew that it would become a big thing. Not just for video games and software, but also for the porn industry.
Because, let´s be honest. Without being a total pervert, how many times have you fantasized about having sex with a celebrity (or anime/cartoon character for that matter) that you really like? (male or female a like).
As i thought, guilty as charge right? 😉 Well, it´s nothing to be ashamed of really. It´s just normal.
But the harsh reality is this. The odds are fairly low that you will ever get a chance to sleep with stars such as Mila Kunis, Scarlett Johansson, Olivia Wilde or Rihanna. But thanks to the virtual reality technology, you can do just that! Hell! You can even realize all your sexual fantasies, just like that.
How? With the help of a VR headset (such as Oculus Rift for example) and some VR software (games, or programs).
And if you think this is just a “male” kind of thing. Think again! Because both sexes are attracted to the VR online world. Do you care to know a real story? Way back in time when i used to play Second Life, i noticed 3 things right away.
1. There was a lot of female players (i´m totaly cool with that) 2. SL is full of crazy people and 3. SL worked as some kind of ventilation chamber for women, where they could blow of some steam.
In short, everything that they couldn´t dare to do (or ask) in real life. They did all that and more in SL. Trust me, i know. I sat in the front row. And i´m going to leave it at that, or else this is going to get turned into the male version of “Fifty shades of grey“.
And speaking of online and virtual sex. Some days ago a company called “VRsexlab” (BIG NSFW WARNING!) started to follow us on Twitter. Well, do you remember what i wrote at the very beginning of this article? That virtual reality is big thing nowadays?
I wasn´t kidding. There´s even a handful of VR sex games (and softwares) on the market now. Games such as “XStoryPlayer “, “3DXChat” and “Chathouse 3D” (aka “Oculus Rift Sex Game”).
So, yeah. I´m quite sure that virtual reality sex games is here to stay. And that industry will keep on growing over time for sure. And as we all know, sex sells. Because it´s a never-ending desire, just like the need for food, air and water.
But if you wonder what my personal opinion would be on virtual reality sex games, then i´m going to say this. We are all adults (hopefully, or else you shouldn´t be reading this text), and we all got a sexlife (i hope).
So it is up to each individual to decide if this disgusts you, or gives you pleasure. As for me, i wouldn´t know. Because i have never tried any VR sex games before.
But would i care try? That´s a story (and question) for another time. So i´m just going to leave you guys with a piece of with Korn´s song “Last Legal Drug”.
“It’s true what they say”
“Fu**ing for love might be the last legal drug”
