When people mention Ridley Scott´s cult-classic cyberpunk movie “Blade Runner” I immediately start to think of three things. 1. Westwood´s awesome Blade Runner game, 2. Cyberpunk and 3. Origami. In the matter of fact, thanks to “Blade Runner” I got really interested in cyberpunk and origami, and speaking of origami. Earlier today I (Robin Ek, TGG) was contacted by Lukas Reznicek from RZE (it´s an indie games studio from the Czech Republic), and he presented to me an Origami-like browser Mmorpg called “Bukkaku“:
“Good day, Hello please let me introduce myself. My name is Lukas Reznicek (RZE) from Czech Republic – designer and developer of indie games and i’d like very much introduce to you my controversially named game – BUKKAKU (It’s not even meant like it sounds…).
“Indie – MMO – RPG – OnLine – browser game project called BUKKAKU is always moving and for now in basic develop-ment. Therefore we will be happy if you support us by giving us Like, sharing or subscribe our channels. Every moment we will bring some news about the project and other things. Also we welcome any feedback. We are preparing elements from various places around the world for the game.” – Lukas Reznicek, RZE
Well, right off the bat. I like the visuals and the concept of “Bukkaku”, but in all honesty…The name choice could have been better (insert adult XXX joke here). Nevertheless, I hope that people will be able to look past the name and give “Bukkaku” a fair chance. Well, at least if you like the idea of playing a game that´s like a mix of Origami, Pokémon, Mexican and Asian culture (“Pokémon samurai with weapons and spells.”, as RZE has described the game themselves).
That sounds really good to me at least. However, I should point out that there is no nailed down release date for “Bukkaku” just yet. So if you like what you´ve seen from “Bukkaku” so far, then keep your eyes and ears open for it´s release =)
