Lab Zero Games are a game development studio which I have a lot of respect for. Why? Well, they just happen to be the creators of one of the best 2D fighting game series to date (a fighting series which only features female fighters). Yes, I’m of course talking about “Skullgirls”. However, not everyone found a liking to the game due to it´s mature (ecchi) kind of nature (I remember that there was quite a lot of fuss over that when “Skullgirls” got released back in 2012). Nevertheless, the game became a huge success among lovers of 2D fighting games. The success story wouldn´t end there though, because “Skullgirls: 2nd Encore” grew Lab Zero Games fan base even more. Well, it appears as if Lab Zero´s fan base is about to grow even larger.
As Lab Zero Games and 505 Games (they are partners in crime now) upcoming action/RPG/adventure game “Indivisible” (for Windows, MAC and Linux) project, looks better than anything that they ever done before (Indivisible is inspired by awesome classics such as Valkyrie Profile and Super Metroid). And the games main character Ajna made me think about a combo of Elena (Street Fighter) and Nausicaä (Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind). As Ajna is a strong fighter (she´s been taught to be like that by her father, whom just happens to be a guardian of the town which Ajna lives in as well) who’s not afraid of adventures and dangerous quests. Which would be rather suitable, as Ajna has just discovered a mysterious power in herself. However, as no one has been able to explain the origin of Ajna´s powers, she decided to leave her village for an epic world-spanning journey.
Naturally, it´s not going to be a “walk in the park” kind of adventure. No, it´s going to be a journey full of dangers and challenges. Not only that, you will also have the ability to gain new abilities, and a variety of unique heroes can join you (Anja) in her quest for answers. In addition to that, there will be breath-taking environments in “Indivisible” as well (thanks to Lab Zero’s awesome 2D hand-drawn animations and designs). As for the actual story and plot of the game, Lab Zero has stated that there will be a deep storyline in “Indivisible” (the storyline is inspired by Southeast Asian and other world mythologies). Besides that, Hiroki Kikuta (the composer of Secret of Mana, Soul Calibur V, Pixel Noir with many more) and Scarlet Moon Productions is working on the soundtrack for “Indivisible”. That sounds pretty promising right? Well, here comes the best part. Lab Zero Games will launch their indiegogo campaign for “Indvisible”, in the next couple of days (October the 8th).
And you will soon be able to download and play the “Indivisible” prototype for Windows, MAC and Linux. So keep your eyes and ears open people!
