As a lot of our readers probably already know, I (Robin Ek, TGG) have become a pretty huge fan of visual novel games (a couple of years ago, I would have laughed at the mere thought of me being a fan of visual novels). I mean, I´ve been playing through VN titles such as “Quantum Suicide“, “The Letter“, “Sekaiju Yggdrasil“, and “Dragon dating simulator” (to name a few). So, yeah, I´ve been hooked up to the visual novel genre for sure (I like VN horror games the most though).

“Ascendant Hearts is said to be a visual novel JRPG/MMORPG parody. Well, I think the trail lives up to that claim.

That´s also why I got quite excited when Visualnoveler contacted us and informed me that they have just launched a Kickstarter campaign for their visual novel game “Ascendant Hearts“:

We just launched a new visual novel called Ascendant Hearts on Kickstarter. Let me know if you have any questions regarding the game.

Synopsis

Hayato lived an ordinary life until he wakes up one day with amnesia… and finds himself in a world closer to the video games he plays than the world he remembers.

Fetch quests? Skill points? Respawning after death? It’s all a bit much to accept. A mage named Shiori offers to help him find his way, and with her help, he learns how to fight monsters, perform fetch quests, and put items in a strange metaphysical space called an “inventory.”

Soon he’s ready to take on NPC quests! But the town of Lightshire is in danger from deadly monsters—monsters that can kill you for real.” – Visualnoveler

Yes, there will indeed be lewd moments and scenes in “Ascendant Hearts” :3

And I´ll have you know that “Ascendant Hearts” is off to a good start since the game has already collected almost 1/5 of its 5,733 USD goal on Kickstarter. So, yeah, things are going rather well for Visualnoveler. Furthermore, since there is still 29 days left to go before the Kickstarter campaign ends, I believe that it´s very like that “Ascendant Hearts” will be fully funded on time. I truly hope so at least, as I like the sound of this (I also enjoyed the Kickstarter trailer quite a bit):
