Award-winning composer behind Final Fantasy XII and Valkyria Chronicles releases epic fantasy soundtrack in latest collaboration with Vanillaware.

Tokyo, Japan – March 29, 2016 – Composer Hitoshi Sakimoto is delighted to finally make available the Dragon’s Crown Original Soundtrack, published via his own Basiscape Records. With music composed solely by Sakimoto–best known for his work on Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy XII, Valkyria Chronicles, and many others–the Dragon’s Crown Original Soundtrack is just the latest in a long-running history of collaboration between Sakimoto and developer Vanillaware, with their partnership extending back to titles including Odin Sphere, Muramasa, and the upcoming Odin Sphere Leifthrasir. The Dragon’s Crown soundtrack has been long sought after by fans of the popular 2013 fantasy beat-’em-up that hearkens back to classic fantasy works, sporting beautiful hand-drawn artwork and a powerful and melody-rich soundtrack by Sakimoto.

Fans of Dragon’s Crown will fondly remember the angelic overworld map and the soothing town theme and will appreciate new piano arrangements of both that are exclusive to this soundtrack release. Other iconic themes heard in the taverns, temples, and dungeons of Dragon’s Crown are also featured over the course of more than three hours of music. Sakimoto’s signature orchestral style is weaved throughout, combining a lush fantasy soundscape reminiscent of Sakimoto’s past works with the action-oriented gameplay of this gorgeous brawler.

About Hitoshi Sakimoto:
Starting his career in the underground videogame making communities in Japan where he often developed his own software to write music, Hitoshi Sakimoto has gone on to establish his signature sound that has earned him worldwide recognition as one of the top composers working in videogames.
After working in-house with Squaresoft and Square Enix earlier in his career on titles including Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy XII, he went on to found Basiscape Co., LTD, a full-service audio team that has worked on a number of titles, from Muramasa and Odin’s Sphere to arrangement albums for Etrian Odyssey and the Mega Man series. Sakimoto himself has scored titles as diverse as Gradius V, Breath of Fire V: Dragon’s Quarter, and the Valkyria Chronicles series.
