It’s kind of funny how Youtube’s recommended feed works sometimes. Long story short. I was just randomly watching some Type O Negative videos, and then out of nowhere. I noticed that Youtube recommended me to check out Rich Douglas (Rich is a composer and sound designer) “Wolfenstein 3D” Orchestral re-recording album (I honestly have no idea how Youtube managed to connect Type O Negative’s music to a Wolf 3D album, magic perhaps?).
Well, since I grew up to love Wolf 3D. I lended my ears to Douglas orchestral re-recording album of “Wolfenstein 3D” (you can listen to the album further down the page), and good thing that. You see, the album is freaking awesome! (I let Douglas know how much I loved his album via Youtube last night).
However, there is a bit of a sad part to be told about this album, because Douglas ran into some trouble with Germany’s mythical and secret BPjM list (by the looks of it, they didn’t like Wolf 3D’s “Horst weissel lied” song…):
“This is my full officially licensed album for Wolfenstein 3D which features massive orchestral versions of just about every theme from the DOS classic. Sadly, it appears that Wolf 3Ds menu music (HORST WEISSEL LIED) is on Germany’s mythical and secret BPjM List. Germany filed a complaint with Spotify and my publisher has removed this album from any and all digital music stores…. but that means all of you now get to hear it for free in high quality. Enjoy!” – Rich Douglas, composer and sound designer
Anyways, I think you get the idea. So please allow me to present to you the track list for the “Wolfenstein 3D” orchestral re-recording album:
