I want to make the following things very clear before I kick this article off. 1. I (we) have ZERO problems with Pax whatsoever 2. It´s their house, so it´s their rules. With that said, I’m going to share my thoughts and opinions on the recent #PAXnavelpolicy and “Booth Babe” policies rants (Pax Prime started yesterday, and ends on Monday). Before I do that though, I want to bring up an old “incident” consisting of the world-famous cosplayer Jessica Nigri and her Juliet Starling (Lollipop Chainsaw) cosplay. Because back in 2012 (at Pax East), Nigri had to leave the Pax East show floor on day 2. Why? Well, apparently Nigri´s Lollipop Chainsaw outfit was considered to be too sexy for Pax East. So Nigri had to change her outfit from “too hot” to “less hot.” Or to be exact, she put on Juliet Starling´s default cheerleading outfit (as seen in the picture down below) as a substitute.
Sure, some may say that it´s “no big deal,” as it´s just an “outfit.” Well, that was 2012, now it´s 2015. And this time it seems like Pax has taken those “outfit” rules to the next level, and in case you haven´t heard about it yet. Then please allow me to tell you all about it. Personally, I found out about Pax new “aggressive navel” policy via Grummz (Mark Kern) yesterday. However, at that time I was not quite sure what all the fuss was about. Now I know a “bit” more about Pax´s new outfit and clothes policies though. So I decided to write about it (thus this post).
Anyhow, as I was saying. You can read Pax´s new “Booth Babe” policies for yourself down below (or via the link):
This was of course something that made the Internet boil with anger (thus the #PAXnavelpolicy hashtag), and that´s also why Twitter is full of images such as this at the moment:
Then there were rumors that Jessica Nigri had been banned from Pax Prime 2015. However, that turns out to be false. As Nigri herself spoke up about this earlier today:
However, there seems to be quite a lot of confusion over Pax new outfit and clothes policies. As I’ve seen plenty of female cosplayers tweeting out pictures of both “aggressive navels” and “cleavage” from the Pax Prime event right now (I don´t want to mention any names, as I don´t want them to get into any trouble). So my guess would be that not everyone knows about Pax´s new rules (or simply doesn’t care), so it´s going to be rather interesting to see whether the Pax Prime security team will throw out people who show too much “aggressive navel” (or “cleavage”) on the show floor, or if they will allow it?. Sure, I understand if Pax wants to portray themselves as a family-friendly event, but “maybe” they should have a separate Pax event for only +18 people? Just saying…Nevertheless, as a Gamer i´m really enjoying Pax Prime 2015 so far =) (I´m watching the event via live Streams).
Anyhow, what do you guys and girls think about all of this? Let us know in the comment section!
