Argonwood’s ambitious strategy game, with a robust multiplayer component, will release for PC next year.
24 JULY 2018 — Cologne-based development studio Argonwood has today announced Rising Lords — an ambitious Medieval turn-based strategy game, due to be released in 2019. Revealed today via a teaser trailer, Rising Lords is a simultaneous turn-based strategy with card and board game elements. Send your serfs to fight and die in your name… or let them prosper, and use them to your advantage!
With a robust multiplayer component to boot, Rising Lords invites players to experience the psychology of war — getting into the minds of their enemies, and making their friends pay for questioning their right to rule!
Up to four players will be able to play simultaneously, with no need to wait for each individual to take their turn. Plus, the game will come with a sizeable single-player campaign mode with detailed customisation options and subtle variables. The tide turns quickly when at war.
Rising Lords will release for PC via Steam next year. Interested players can already wishlist the game on Steam to ensure they receive updates on the game’s progress, and follow Argonwood on Twitter for behind-the-scenes information and work-in-progress images and video from the game.
About Rising Lords
Rising Lords is a medieval turn-based strategy game with card and board game elements. Send your serfs to fight and die in your name… or let them prosper, and use them to your advantage!
Collect taxes and resources. Dictate rations and field work. Forge weapons, reshape the battlefield, raise armies, and build mighty fortified cities. Help your people become knights, or dump them on a battlefield far away, but be careful: even the most humble peasants will revolt eventually…
In addition to its campaign mode, Rising Lords features robust multiplayer functionality. Play a quick game, or settle in for an evening or more. Play mind games with your friends with Rising Lords’ advanced social interactivity, and let them pay for their insolence in questioning your right to rule!

Argonwood is an independent game development studio based in Cologne, Germany. Working across a range of unfashionable genres, they look to shake up stagnant game mechanics and infuse them with fresh new ideas.
The core team consists of brothers Chris and Manu Fernholz, a programmer and an artist who have been designing games their whole lives. Having started out in the world of pen-and-paper and board games, the pair have been developing smaller PC games since 2013 – and are now confidently approaching their first large-scale strategy title, Rising Lords, due to release in 2019.
