Today, Playground Productions, a children’s and family company focused on making best-in-class film, television, digital media, and video games, released a brand-new original version of Backyard Baseball — the iconic game that has captivated players since 1997.

Available now on Steam for Mac and PC, the reimagined title brings the beloved franchise into a new era with modern features while preserving the charm that made it a fan favorite. Players can also wishlist Backyard Baseball today on PlayStation and Xbox, with Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions arriving soon as part of the game’s full console rollout.

The new game is packed full of content that celebrates the series’ legacy while expanding on it. Players can:

Dive deep into multiple game modes, from pick-up games to full league mode
Compete in exciting new game modes, including the reimagined batting practice mode Backyard Bash and the all-new Backyard Derby
Play solo or challenge friends in couch co-op

Choose from multiple difficulty levels, from New Kid to Playground Pro, making Backyard Baseball one of the most accessible sports games on the market
Introducing Wiggle Ball, a brand-new game mode that adds a wild spin to every at-bat
Choose from 30+ playable characters, including the GOAT himself, Pablo Sanchez
Create custom characters and design bats through an expanded customization system
Unlock new content throughout gameplay, including achievements, stadiums, and new playable characters
Earn tokens through gameplay to unlock baseball card collectibles featuring artwork from dozens of talented artists
The best part — no microtransactions. All tokens are earned through gameplay.

Backyard Baseball will also feature online multiplayer. While not available at launch, the mode arrives soon and will allow players to compete against each other.
