Hamburg, June 2nd 2017 – How does a gamer think? Who plays, what is played and what is it, that makes gaming so fascinating? Does gaming influence the everyday lifestyle? 2016 ROCCAT started several online surveys and confronted the gaming community with numerous questions. The answers we learned were both, interesting and entertaining. The results of our surveys were put in correlation with the findings of other studies and compiled to form the ROCCAT GAMING REPORT. One thing we learned from our studies: PC gamer are much more loyal to their preferred gaming system. Only 47% of PC gamers also employ other gaming systems, whereas 87% of console gamers also use other available platforms for gaming. It also turned out, that gaming has a real influence on everyday life: 58% of the people surveyed stated that sometimes they stay at home due to the release of a new game.

And there are more situations in everyday life that are encountered by many gamers: “Sorry, I can’t take the trash out right now. This game has no pause function.” Is a saying 41% of the surveyed audience needed to utter before. However, the result also shows, that gamers are very sociable and highly regard personal relationships. 60% would never skip a date because of a game.
