Sorgina: A Tale of Witches, a family friendly 3D puzzle-solving platformer based on Basque mythology, will launch on May 30th on Steam (PC), at a full release price of $9.99 / £6.99 / €9.99. Finalist to the best Basque videogame award, Binary Soul studio’s debut will be available on the Steam (PC) catalogue with an international version that includes new languages (English, Spanish and Basque) and improvements, after a successful Greenlight campaign.
To celebrate its launch and thank everyone for their support, the game will be available at a 15% discount during its first week on Steam.
Sorgina Universe:
Sorgina: A Tale of Witches is an adventure based on Basque myths and legends. Throughout the game, our heroine, a young witch apprentice, faces a journey throughout mythological lands, inspired by real landmarks of the Basque Country, while meeting its many folklore characters.
Using her magic powers she will have to solve a variety of puzzles and rescue her sisters from the clutches of the evil Gaueko in order to dispel darkness and bring peace back to their kingdom. The game is especially aimed at a younger audience, who will find the puzzles more challenging and will learn about a mythology and culture they probably never hear about before.

Solve challenging puzzles, explore beautiful levels inspired by real locations such as the Forest of Oma, or the Caves of Zugarramurdi and unlock new powers by interacting with characters from local folklore like Mari or Basajaun.

In Binary Soul we believe in adding value to our products in any possible way, so considering the target audience, we thought it was interesting to include a cultural context through which kids could learn while having fun. In that regard, there is a Legends section in the game where players can read about the myths, legends, locations and characters of Basque mythology.
Sorgina: A Tale of Witches is the improved, international version of Sorginen Kondaira which was locally distributed in the Basque country during 2016. It is the first title in a series of games based on Basque mythology for different platforms (pc, mobile, consoles, etc.). Binary Soul is planning to expand the Sorgina brand with new products with cultural and educational value. The second game in the series, which has already been published for Android an IOS is Sorgina: Challenges, a mobile / tablet game in which players can compete in 3 different mini games.
About Binary Soul
Binary Soul is a studio from Bilbao, Spain that was formed in 2014 by 7 graduates from C.E.T. master at Digipen Institute of Technology.
