NCsoft and Team Bloodlust today announced with great delight and excitement that they have just released the “New Empires” update for their sexy MMORPG “Blade and Soul”.

It’s coronation day across the Earthen Realm and a new empress will soon be crowned in the Blade & Soul: New Empires update.

The martial-arts themed fantasy MMO is getting a free update today with the next chapter of the Epic Story Arc – as the new empress is crowned, anything is possible.

The update also includes the new Hall of Trials Dungeon, and the Horde & Gourd Event, which pits players against waves of Dokkaebi spirits. As the New Empire rises, so too does a host of other changes, including a new tier of weapons, major item and system changes, and quality of life updates. Act XII Interlude: With the Divines and the Earthen Realm saved from the meddling of Mushin and the Dark Lord, the land should be under the control of the living. Princess Namsoyoo will soon ascend to the throne of the Stratus Empire – the first Empress to rule in an age without Divine Intervention. Hall of Trials: The newest dungeon to be added to Blade & Soul emanates chaotic energy. Hall of Trials is a four-person Demonsbane Dungeon – Blade & Soul’s dynamic difficulty Mythical Dungeons – and will be the place where characters will find the newest Upsurge Weapons, along with many other high-tier rewards. There are 20 stages of difficulty in total, and player progress will be tracked and rewards given based on player performance. Full dungeon details here: Hall of Trials Dungeon Details
Horde & Gourde: Through June 8, players who venture to Kaebi Village will have the opportunity to fight against 15 waves of Dokkaebi spirits, who have begun to wreak havoc on the normally peaceful village. Depending on how well players fare against the spirits, they will receive Kaebi Soju and Dumplings as rewards, as well as Kaebi Coins to use to purchase various items from the Dragon Express. Players will also find Bronze, Silver and Gold Gourds, each filled with various rewards based on the quality of the gourd. Full event details here: Horde & Gourd Event Details
Items and System Changes: A new top-tier weapon – Upsurge – is now available to players. The new Succession System will allow players to transition existing gear to the new Upsurge Tier, and the new weapons also have a new type of enchantment bonuses.
