Press release:
London, United Kingdom – March 13th, 2018 – Independent developer Toxic Games is proud to announce that Q.U.B.E. 2, its highly-anticipated sequel to the 2011 hit, Q.U.B.E., is out now. Q.U.B.E. 2 is available now on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 for £19.99/€24.99/$24.99. Meanwhile, on Steam, Humble Bundle, Greenman Gaming and Good Old Games, Q.U.B.E. 2 is subject to a special 20% launch discount, meaning players who buy the game in the first week of release, will be able to do so at a price of £15.99/€19.99/$19.99. The Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro versions of the game feature native 4K resolutions and ultra-high graphics settings.

Players of the first-person puzzler are also able to purchase the Q.U.B.E. 2 Season Pass which will give them access to all currently released content alongside a classic glove skin pack and two themed packs featuring a slew of brand new puzzles. The Season Pass is available for £9.99/$13.99/€13.99 as a standalone purchase or £27.99/$34.99/€34.99 when bought with Q.U.B.E. 2 itself. For those buying the game from Steam with the 20% launch discount, the bundle will cost £22.49/$27.99/€27.99. The official Q.U.B.E. 2 soundtrack is also available for £4.99 to purchase digitally.

Q.U.B.E. 2 puts players in the shoes of British archaeologist, Amelia Cross, on a beautiful yet mysterious alien planet. With the help of fellow survivor, Emma, Amelia must face the challenges of the Q.U.B.E. in the hope of finding a way back home. Q.U.B.E 2 retains the shifting, environmental puzzles of the original but wraps the action around Amelia’s own intimate story and her quest for survival.

“We’re all hugely proud of what our small team has managed to achieve with Q.U.B.E. 2,” said Dan Da Rocha, Managing Director at Toxic Games. “We’ve lived within the world of Q.U.B.E. since our time at university and to see the project germinate from its initial idea into the rich puzzle and narrative experience we see today is overwhelming. We hope players enjoy the open-ended puzzle design and emotional journey of Amelia as they unravel the mysteries of the Q.U.B.E.”

Armed with a special pair of gloves that let her manipulate the environment, Amelia must navigate a monolithic structure filled with alien technologies in search of Emma Sutcliffe, another stranded scientist. Together they must find a way home. Over the course of 11 Chapters, players combine the abilities of the “manipulation gloves” with the alien architecture to solve the game’s open-ended puzzles. In a story that explores themes of trust, isolation and humanity, thought-provoking questions about Amelia’s true purpose and the origins of the structure will need to be considered, forcing her to come to terms with a devastating truth that will shake her world.

About Toxic Games:
Toxic Games was established in 2010 by former classmates, Daniel Da Rocha, Dave Hall and Jonathan Savery who began development of Q.U.B.E. as a student project in 2009. With advice and investment from independent game developer veterans, Indie Fund, Toxic Games were able to go from student hobbyists to independent developers upon graduation from University. Toxic Games launched Q.U.B.E. to rave reviews in 2011, receiving high acclaim from Joystiq, Videogamer, and PC Gamer. In 2014, Toxic Games released Q.U.B.E: Director’s Cut, adding an expanded story and enhanced graphics. Its much anticipated follow-up, Q.U.B.E. 2 will launch March 13th on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
