Select Gameworks “Lust Selection“ is based on an 18+ erotic web novel called “My Adventures in the Office” by James Sunny.
Well, “Lust Selection” is firmly entrenched in a soap opera storyline, albeit with very adult themes. Whilst there is comedy, it is very slight and certainly doesn’t appear frequently.
Playing as James, you start off all fresh in your life (James has just gone through a rough divorce), and that involves joining a new construction company (along with the boss from your old construction company).
Initially, you’ll be spending time getting to used to your new colleagues in a rather strange split office, with the two halves being separate companies – but also the same.
Some of your fellow workers include a serious and cold female dubbed “The Ice Queen”; Which is a young female who is constantly being harassed by her boss, who also happens to be her ex-boyfriend and the son of one of the company owners; a very young man who is constantly handing in error-ridden work…
Whilst conversely, there is also a very old man who is constantly handing in error-free work, but taking days to do a three-hour piece of work.
In addition to that, your ex-girlfriend (to whom you are legally married, having never started the required paperwork) also works for one of the companies as well.
Currently, there are two episodes of “Lust Selection”, with the first episode mainly revolving around a female called Sandy who’s ex-boyfriend is constantly harassing and stalking her.
So, while you’re trying to come up with a plan to try to “modify” his behavior, you also start to realize that she could well be would be worth spending more time with.
Well…Initially, the plan seems to be generally successful. However, more problems rear their head in the form of Hakim (the same guy who always arrives late and leaving early).
Anyways, episode one ends when it is revealed what his problem is… and you’re asked to solve it.
So, what about visuals then? Well, graphically, the game looks pretty nice. For example, the characters are large and nicely defined, but not always detailed.
Other than that, Hakim (against all the other characters) does look out-of-place, being somewhat not as defined as the other characters, for some reason.
It’s also worth pointing out that there is little in the way of animation, but that doesn’t really matter in this case.
You see, the game’s backgrounds and CG’s are very nice with plenty of detail. The visual novel is almost fully voiced as well (the only real-time when it isn’t is during narration). The voices themselves are okay, but the protagonist does sound a bit too laid back.
Nevertheless, in overall (whilst the plot isn’t all that complex), EP 1 of “Lust Selection” is still interesting and pretty relevant. However, don’t expect much in the way of sex scenes at the moment though.
Even so, EP 1 still left me hungry for EP 2 (which I hope to review as soon as possible). So if you want to play a beautiful and intriguing 18+ erotic visual novel, then you should give “Lust Selection” a try for sure.
+ Comes with Android version
+ Pretty realistic. Good story
+ Very nice backgrounds and pretty decent characters too
+ Music is pretty decent. Voice acting is fine
– Perhaps the story (at least for this part) is a bit too light-weight
– A few spelling mistakes
Sound and music: 3/5
Replay value: 3/5
Whilst the game’s story does start off a bit slowly, it does pick up once the prologue is out-of-the-way.
Furthermore, the story is quite down-to-earth and quite realistic (the humor is rather limited though). So Episode one of “Lust Selection” certainly shouldn’t put anyone off from playing this, especially as the main story is pretty good.
