In “MICROGEE – Endless Floater” there’s only one goal: survive as long as you can while collecting stars. Your reward? To get a nice spot on the leader boards and cashing in stars for new helmets. There are few helmets that give you some cosmetic entertainment from the gag Fishbowl helmet to the Gold Helmet that costs 1,337 stars (Har har). The only other helmet, the Viking Helmet, can’t be bought by stars. In fact, It’s practically the only unlockable that requires money. The game itself is completely full and free, which is always nice.’

It must be Thursday. I could never get the hang of*SLUUUUUUP*.

To get around aliens, spikes, lasers, bombs, and many other favorite SciFi tropes you tap either the up or down arrows on the bottom of the screen. Since the screen will continue to scroll to the right, there’s no stopping. And of course if you’re not careful, you could create more momentum and run into an obstacle more easily. Fortunately, MICROGEE isn’t as fast as Micro Mike, so there is some time to make it pass that brain sucking Greys (or pinks in this case).

In space, no one can see how much of a space dork you are.

Presentation uses the modern pixel style. While the game is full of grey (the color, not the alien archetype) the obstacles do bring the screen to life. It’s fun to see what hazards you’ll run into and try to point out which movie they’re referencing. The environment itself is also nicely detailed, showing some dedication in the art. The music is pretty good as well. It does give the atmosphere that you’re in space and the universe doesn’t take kindly of you in a very subtle chiptune.

Pros:
+ Simple and easy to pick up.
+ Modern pixel art is fluid and gives a sort of retro style to it.
+ The game is free unless you want that Viking Helmet that bad.
+ SciFi tropes as hazards. See if you can figure out which movie they came from.

Cons:
– WiFi necessary: watch game trailers to earn 25 stars per video.
– Prices can be a bit high for the helmets.

Gameplay: 4/5

Sound/Music: 3.5/5
Controls: 3.5/5
Replay value: 2/5

tgg grade 3.5 out of 5

Verdict: 3.5/5
MICROGEE – Endless Floater has a bit of a retro flair to it in both game art style and SciFi references. It is a fun little game to kill some time with even if the Greys say otherwise.
