The Colorado-based (the US) indie games developer Third Sphere Game Studios today announced with great thrill and delightthat their Souls-like 2D ARPG “Watcher Chronicles”, is now available for the Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo Eshop for $19.99 / €19,99.

Furthermore, “Watcher Chronicles” comes to Nintendo consoles featuring a local coop mode with single Joy-Con support. So, here’s your chance to battle your way with a friend through an interconnected purgatory, filled with skeletal nightmares and merciless bosses on the Nintendo Switch!

The game blends the characteristic souls-like fast skill-based combat with RPG elements, and will also feature a local co-op multiplayer mode to play with a friend. Watcher Chronicles was released first on Steam on January 19th; critics and players have praised the game for its challenging combat and gameplay, and its hand-drawn 2D art style.

In the darkest depths of Purgatory, forces of evil have allied to turn this intermediate state into a new Hell, punishing all the lost souls that wander there in search of expiatory purification.

Our brave hero will have to battle his way through this wretched abyss, fighting against hordes of nightmarish enemies and more than 20 merciless bosses to prevent them from carrying out their malicious plan. Death is a hero’s destiny: prepare to die… a lot.

ABOUT THE GAME

Third Sphere Game Studios is an indie studio based in Colorado and founded in 2018 by Stephen Peppers. Their debut game, Watcher Chronicles, has been in development for 4 years and features art by Miguel Spadafino and music by Emanuele Viali. The game pays tribute to titles like Dark souls (and the souls-like genre), Berserk, Final Fantasy, Darksiders, or Salt and Sanctuary and will be finally launched on Steam in January 2022.
