***Update 1 – 2015-10-30 – 11:57 CET***

You know what they say about the world right? That the world can be really small sometimes? Well, In this case I have to agree on that. As we were contacted by a staff member from the audioboom team this morning. To make a long story short, apparently Nolan North (he voiced Nathan Drake in “Uncharted 1-4”, and David in “The Last of Us”) spoke up about his thoughts on “The Last of Us 2” (North did that via the MCM Comic Con site just recently). In fact, Nolan had us know in which direction he thinks “The Last of Us 2” will go. “If” Naughty Dog is to release “The Last of Us 2”.  Sure, the game is said to be “in the works” (funny enough, that was confirmed by Nolan North back in June this year). However, we are still yet to see anything from “The Last of Us 2” (E3 2016?).

“UK & Ireland’s BIGGEST Pop Culture Events: London Comic Con May & October, Midlands Comic Con February, Birmingham Comic Con March & November, Manchester Comic Con July Scotland Comic Con September and Memorabilia Birmingham March & November.”

Anyhow, you can listen to what Nolan North had to say on this matter down below (it ain´t much, but it´s something at least):

—————————————————-

Naughty Dog may have accidentally leaked that they’re working on The Last of Us 2, and that’s excellent! In a recent live stream video released to promote the upcoming Nathan Drake Collection, Eric Monacelli—Naughty Dog’s community strategist spoke to two staff members from Uncharted. The staff members, Eric Baldwin lead animator, and Josh Scherr the series writer, laughed when he stumbled over his words when referring to The Last of Us.

“By the way, all the facial animation in the Uncharted series was led by Eric here, and the first The Last of Us.”

Appearing to panic slightly, Scherr quickly corrected his speech, “Did I say the first The Last of Us? Uh…the first of The Last of Us. The Last of Us.” Obviously saying the first The Last of Us implys that there’s a second game in the works. Although we know that there must be a sequel in the works thanks to Uncharted voice actor Nolan North spilling the beans on it at a Q&A session, and for Michael Knowland adding on his LinkedIn profile that he worked on The Last of Us 2 for at least one month.

With Uncharted 4 not being released until spring of 2016, Naughty Dog doesn’t typically release their games until 3 years after the last one, keeping the rotation fresh. This would mean that we wouldn’t see The Last of Us until as early as 2019 at the earliest—if this is true. Fans speculation that a sequel title was in the works given the success of the first title is correct, but the question is when?

Don’t forget the remastered edition of The Last of Us is on Playstation 4, along with the DLC to complete the title. The Last of Us has no release date in sight, but we know that at some point it will debut on the Playstation 4. What would you like to see in The Last of Us 2 when it premieres? Let us know in the comments!
