If you like accessing Facebook on your Sony consoles and TV, you may have to get used to it being gone. As of September 15th, support for all Facebook features on the Playstation Vita, Playstation 3, and the Playstation TV is coming to an end. By January 2016, all Facebook support will be pulled by Sony.
In its announcement, Sony didn’t mention why it’s taking such strong action against the social media giant.
Sony released an announcement dismissing the idea of Facebook being pulled from all of its devices.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we appreciate your understanding,” Sony said.
This is a very obscure situation that Sony has placed its consumers in. The real question is why Sony has pulled support from its devices, and why? Another question is how far will this revolt stem? Will it go across all forms of social media, including Foursquare and even Twitter? Only time will tell.
