There are two ways to spend a Valentine’s Day like this. With romantic music and champagne by candlelight. Or trying to escape from a creepy lockdown with a terrifying paranormal presence by your side that wants to drain your blood. This second one is not a metaphor for a toxic relationship.

It’s “Do Not Open“: a new video game developed by Nox Noctis, with the collaboration of Gammera Nest and PlayStation Talents. A creepy horror escape room in which you will have to hide from killer monsters and solve puzzles at full speed… or die.

We have already tried it, and you can do it next February 24, when it goes available on physical and digital edition for PS4, also, it´s already available on PS5 (physical and digital edition) and Steam… unless you are still with romantic music, of course.

If you’ve been declared in love today by that person you only want as a friend, believe me, you haven’t felt half the pressure that you’ll feel playing “Do Not Open”. Imagine: you are Michael J. Goreng, a well-known zoologist and epidemiologist. One day you show up at your house.

But it’s not your house. It’s like a parallel version of it, where everything that terrifies you can happen. The most important thing: your wife and daughter are in terrible danger. And another thing that is also of some importance: there is a supernatural, evil presence trying to rip your skin to pieces.

If this premise doesn’t seem terrifying enough, pay attention to the type of gameplay proposed by the people at Nox Noctis. This oppressive narrative framework is actually a combination of escape room with first-person survival horror that you will have to beat by solving complicated puzzles against the clock and hiding from the unspeakable nightmares that haunt you.

The duration of each game is short. But each one is different. The challenges and rooms are presented randomly so you will never play the same game twice. But you’ll be thankful that the duration of each attempt is short, because its intensity will leave you breathless.

There are only 10 days left until the horror is unleashed in Michael J. Goreng’s house… And you’re still listening to romantic music?
