Tommy Tallarico and Video Games Live are back again with a new Kickstarter campaign. And this time they aim to make a Level 5 album (which would be the fifth VGL studio album to date) and movie with the help of Kickstarter. And VGL hopes to collect $150,000 within 50 days henceforth. Personally, I think VGL will reach that goal on time. Since both the Level 3 ($285,000, 5,679 backers) and Level 4 albums ($187,000, 3,712 backers) were successfully funded on time. Any ways, this is the actual mail that we received from VGL just now:

“Hi Everyone!,

Today we launched another Kickstarter to fund our 5th album (Video Games Live: LEVEL 5) and movie! It started a few hours ago and already it’s really taking off!!

Hoping to record new music from Phoenix Wright, Super Mario World, Chrono Cross, ICO, Metroid, Zelda, Warcraft, Command & Conquer, Grim Fandango and for my friends in Brazil & Chile… TOP GEAR!!

So it seems like VGL: Level 5 will be a 72+ piece orchestra album (12 to 15 tracks) that will feature famous video game composers from all over the world. And not only that, the Level 5 album will consist of never before released VGL music arrangements from the following game franchises:

SUPER MARIO WORLD
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA
CHRONO CROSS
GRIM FANDANGO
PHOENIX WRIGHT
METROID
ICO
WORLD OF WARCRAFT: WARLORDS OF DRAENOR
COMMAND & CONQUER: RED ALERT
TOP GEAR

And “if” the Level 5 meets it´s stretch goals. Then VGL will add music from Okami, Earthbound/Mother, Xenogears/Saga/Blade and Katamari Damacy! (there might even be more tracks than that). There will also be a “making of” documentary for Level 5, which will tell the story behind each song and how it came to be. So I wish Tallarico and the VGL team the best of luck with Level 5 on Kickstarter! (Level 5 will be released in July this year if the album gets successfully funded on Kickstarter).
