People can say and think what they want about Major Nelson, but he sure drops quite a lot of Xbox news bombs every now and then, and today was such a day. As Major Nelson had us know that 343 Industries has released the launch date and the launch trailer for “Halo Wars 2“:

“Halo Wars 2 releases Tuesday, Feb. 21 (or Friday, Feb. 17 for Ultimate Edition owners) and today 343 Industries has released a new Halo Wars 2 launch trailer. After experiencing a pyrrhic victory following the events of the first Halo Wars, Captain Cutter and the brave crew of the UNSC Spirit of Fire wake up after 28 years of cryosleep to discover themselves orbiting a familiar Forerunner construct; Halo 3 fans, you know what it is. After receiving a distress signal and sending down some Spartans to investigate, the crew meets Atriox – an incredibly dangerous Brute who is as intelligent as he is strong. He poses a grave threat to humanity, and it’s up to you to stop him and his Banished.” – Major Nelson

I enjoyed the trailer quite a bit I have to say.

Furthermore, I found some more information about the game in the video description box for the Youtube trailer (you will find even more information via Halo Wars 2´s homepage):

“This February, real-time strategy makes an explosive return to the Halo Universe with Halo Wars 2. Lead armies of Spartans and other Halo fighting forces like Warthogs, Scorpions and exciting new units in a brutal war against a terrifying new enemy. Featuring campaign, multiplayer, and the all-new Blitz mode, this is the biggest Halo battlefield ever. The action begins February 17th with Ultimate Edition early access.” – Xbox, via Youtube

And with that said, what di you think about the launch trailer for “Halo Wars 2?” Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
