I have been asked quite a few times in the past which fighting game I got into first, or which fighting game it was that turned me into a fan of the fighting genre. Well, truth be told. Even though I (Robin Ek, TGG) was born in the mid 80s, it wasn’t until I played “Street fighter 2” on the SNES console that I started to get really interested in fighting games (this was around mid-late 1991 ). However, there was one particular fighting title that truly consumed my Gaming soul completely, and that was Midway’s ultra brutal fighting game “Mortal Kombat”.

You see, in the summer of 1992, I found my way to the arcades in my local home town, and on that very day I discovered the “Mortal Kombat” arcade game. Well, the rest is as they say “history”, because I’ve been a fan of the “Mortal Kombat” series since that day =) (throughout the early and mid 90s, I jumped back and forth between MK 1-3 on console and PC depending on if I was at home or at my friend’s place).

Mileena has always been as deadly as she’s sexy (she’s one of my favorite female fighting characters of all time) , and “Mortal Kombat X” sure isn’t no exception.

I’m of course aware that the MK series has had its ups and downs over the years (that same could also be said about the various movie attempts of MK…). Nevertheless, I’ve been a loyal MK fan throughout the years. Even so, it wasn’t until NetherRealm Studios released “Mortal Kombat X” (the game got released to PS4, Xbox One and PC in April of 2015) that I got back into the world of MK, and funny enough. When I was going through some news for SDCC 2017 (San Diego Comic Con 2017) I spotted a really awesome and sexy Mileena cosplay by Ireland Reid :3 (she paid SDCC 2017 a little visit just recently) And for those who have no idea who Ireland is, here’s a short introduction of her:

You can really tell that Ireland is into fitness and cosplay, because you don’t get to pull of such an awesome cosplay as this without a lot of blood, sweat and tears.

Ireland looks like she’s ready to drop some bombs at a movie set for a new “Mortal Kombat” movie (that’s not the case though, at least not to my knowledge).

Never before has a parking lot been so sexy and deadly.

Other than that, It’s also worth pointing out that Ireland has done plenty of other cosplays besides her Mileena cosplay. I’m not even exaggerating either, because she has done tons of different cosplays in the past, and that includes everything from Pichu (“Pokémon“), Mary Jane Watson (“Spider-Man“), Poison (“Final Fight”) to a female version of Link (“Zelda“). So, yeah, I think it’s safe to say that Ireland has a very wide range when it comes to her cosplays. As it seems like she’s not afraid to try different sorts of cosplays, and on a personal level. I find Ireland to be one of the very best cosplayers in the world. I also have to admit that I like the fact that she’s a PhD Student/Designer/Gamer and fitness Entertainer.
