PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo have always remained the top platforms for gaming. Since the early days of gaming, these platforms have dominated the industry. Most of the games have been released for these platforms as well, and that too for good reasons. However, in recent years, we have seen mobile gaming becoming popular as well.
Some mobile games even have more than 100 million players, which is almost similar to the total player count of World of Warcraft, one of the biggest video games of all time. Speaking of this game, if you’re interested in becoming rich in it, then you should buy WoW Classic Gold.
Mobile gaming isn’t as intense and visually pleasing as the other platforms, but it still has its own benefits. After all, there is a reason why millions of players prefer to play video games on their mobile phones instead of the other platform. There are various factors that have contributed to the success of mobile gaming, and I’m going to try to talk about some of them.
Mobile phones weren’t always cheap. Sure, some are still expensive today, but many smartphones are affordable. Companies such as Apple only introduce expensive smartphones which the common man can not purchase, but most of the other companies such as Samsung, Oppo, and a few more create smartphones that are cheap and reliable.
When smartphones became easier to purchase, many people made a switch to them from traditional button phones. From this point onwards, developers started creating more and more applications for smartphones as they knew the platform was becoming popular. Soon after this, video game developers decided to create games for this platform as well, and it was a success.
During the early days, we saw games such as Fruit Ninja, Pac-Man, and Tetris making their way to smartphones. However, in recent years, the developers have decided to take things to the next level by creating some heavy-duty games, such as Asphalt and Modern Combat.
Both games were pretty amazing, and they changed how mobile gaming worked. However, this wasn’t the end as PUBG then made its way to mobiles, and it instantly became the most played mobile game of all time.
PUBG was already popular on PC, but its popularity increased further when it was released for mobile. In fact, the mobile version of the game is more successful and popular than the PC version.
This is because while PC players require a good build to play the game properly, mobile phone users can play it as long as they have a decent smartphone. They don’t have to worry about having the latest graphics card or processor to get the most out of the game.
A big reason why mobile gaming is becoming popular is people want something to play on the go. Sure, consoles such as PSP allowed them to get this luxury, but their popularity decreased significantly as people got bored with them. But the thing about mobile phones is that they are used for many more things other than gaming. Whenever people feel bored with playing a game on them, they can also switch to some other application, such as Netflix.
As mobile gaming is becoming popular, more and more developers are taking an interest in it. Soon after PUBG became successful on mobile, many developers started developing their own games for mobile. A big example is EA, who recently released Apex Legends mobile as well.
For those who don’t know, Apex Legends is considered one of the best battle royale games in the world, so it is only common for its developers to target the mobile audience as well to boost the popularity of their video game further.
We have even seen big video game franchises, such as Grand Theft Auto, becoming available on mobile phones. I still remember when GTA San Andreas came out for mobile, players rushed to their built in-store to purchase the game for their devices. Another Battle Royale game, Fornite also made its way to mobile in recent years. However, it failed to become as popular as PUBG mobile.
These were some reasons why mobile gaming is becoming popular. We are only going to see an increase in the number of mobile gamers in the coming years. Because of this reason, we can expect other big franchises to release their video games for this platform as well.
