You don’t have to be a master of portals or be a popular game streamer to play Slitgate well. If you’ve spent hours on the game, you probably know all there is to know about it. However, such knowledge will be useless if you don’t know how to use it.

This article will guide you with some practical tips for winning Splitgate matches. So, sit back, and have a good read before you grab that pad again. Lastly, you might want to up your game with some additional help. We recommend a visit to https://battlelog.co/splitgate-hacks-cheats-aimbot/.

5 Splitgate tips and tricks to help you win

1. Make sure your crosshair is set right

The crosshair plays a vital role in every FPS. You can’t play a shooter game without shooting or a crosshair. Luckily, you can alter both the size and color of your crosshair. This is one very important factor in your shooting.

The trick is choosing a small crosshair. The small crosshair helps to increase your accuracy when hitting targets. Also, we recommend using a crosshair color that has high contrast against the surrounding. Yellow or pink will do just fine.

2. Portals are not just for quick travels.

Players tend to limit portals in Splitgate to the traditional quick travels across the maps. There’s a lot more to portals, including traps and baits. For instance, if you know an enemy’s location, cast a portal beside you and an exit portal behind the enemy. Dash into the portal close to you, emerge behind them and get a cheap kill.

Another trick is creating a portal right at an opponent’s feet and letting them fall through it. If an enemy is chasing you, enter a portal and let them follow. You’ll emerge on the other side before them, turn round and wait for them to emerge before firing.

3. Don’t just spam portals around.

Splitgate mechanics don’t allow players to create portals where a portal already existed. While portals allow you to flee from danger faster, they could be disastrous if you don’t know how to use them right. A teammate may need to cast a portal and escape but can’t due to lack of space.

If you’re not using a portal anymore, just close it. Launch a grenade at any nearby enemy portal to destroy it if you can’t find a ready space for a portal. Once it has been destroyed, you can launch your portal on the same spot.

4. Don’t settle for your starting pistol.

One cool feature of the Splitgate title is that all its weapons are useful, including your initial pistol. All players will start the game with the same weapon – the pistol. However, you’ll come across better weapons, with the sniper at the top of the list.

While you may be comfortable with your pistol’s impact on enemies, it’s still no match against an enemy wielding a sniper. So, make sure you pick one when you can. You’ll shoot with increased accuracy, and your bullets will deal more damage.

5. Reloading might take too long; swap instead.

Many players on Splitgate probably haven’t noticed this, so it could be a big plus for you: swapping weapons in Splitgate has a shorter animation time than reloading. Knowing when and how to use this could be all the edge you need above your opponents.

You don’t ever have to worry about running out of bullets amidst a hot shootout. Tapping the swap button changes your weapon almost immediately. Make sure you have a fine Carbine, Plasma Rifle, or Sniper to switch to.

Conclusion

Your personal favorite could be running around, spamming portals, and shooting at everything and everyone in sight. You may survive the first few minutes, but it won’t be long before you run into a pro who’d waste no time in killing you.

Take a second look at the tips above, noting salient points that can help you improve your gaming. Also, you can enter matches with friends to make the game more fun. After all, winning also depends on whether you’re deriving fun from your actions. More importantly, Splitgate is all about portals – learn to use them strategically.
