PewDiePie has become the face of Youtube Red, and it’s going to change the way you view videos forever starting soon. Although he’s worth nearly $12,000,000, PewDiePie still has to contend with his subscribers utilizing the Ad block feature on Youtube, and he’s not a fan, to say the least. Using the Ad block essentially cuts him out of earning a CPM (click per mile) to gain monetization for you viewing his content. The result, of course, is a loss of gain for the Youtube and Minecraft mega star, and it’s starting to hit home for him, as well as other prominent Youtube content creators.
Youtube Red became the answer to cutting out the Ad blocker, and it’s going to cost you if you wish to remain a fan of PewDiePie. Starting at $9.99 per month, Youtube Red is a subscription service that promotes Ad-free content, as well as other perks. With Youtube Red you can:
– Save videos offline for mobile
– Background play for music
– YouTube and YouTube Gaming apps for Android and iOS
– Chromecast
– Android TV
– Apple TV
– Consoles: Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, Playstation 3 and Playstation 4
– Roku (LT, 1, 2, 2 HD, 2 XD, 2 XS, 3, Streaming Stick, Roku TV)
– Supported Smart TVs
– Currently, YouTube Red is not available on the YouTube app for the Amazon Fire TV.
What else do I get with the subscription?
Besides everything listed, you can access your music and other apps in the background as the app is running, you can save videos offline for up to 30 days, and you’ll receive a free monthly subscription to Google Music ($10 value). If you already have Google Music, you’ll have the inverse so Youtube Red will be free monthly.
Why would I want Youtube Red?
The obvious answer is for Ad-free content. If you’re not willing to sit through 14-15 seconds of ads, or wait for the Skip button to appear, then the subscription is worth it to you. Furthermore, your favorite entertainers, as well as Youtube icons will most likely be moving all of their newer content over to the subscription channel since it launched on October 28th in the US. At this time, an international release date is not known.
Another reason to roll over onto the new service is because for your $9.99 subscription, you’re enrolled into the opposite service free. It’s a better deal than Spotify, Tidal, Rdio and other music based services. Although many critics blame the emergence of Youtube Red on PewDiePie (and many other Youtube based E-celebrities). Nevertheless, there’s no denying the facts.
– Youtube Red isn’t going away, and is most likely going to sweep the Internet
– Pew Die Pie and several other E-celebrities will keep urging you to sign up so that their slice of the pie will be bigger from Youtube and Google
– You can still view Youtube normally, which won’t go away, and the same content on Youtube Red will eventually revert to the former.
– Over 40% of viewers enable Ad blocker—which is something Google created for fans to utilize against the same Ads.
– It works out better for Content creators who need for flexibility with their time, budgets, and concerns for fan base.
Nevertheless, one should keep in mind that there is still a lot to be worked-out with this new subscription service though. However, if that doesn´t bother you all that much, then you can experience the Youtube Red service for yourself with your 30-day free trial starting today. Or if you have Google Music, it’s free anyway—so go check it out for yourself!
