Iconic franchise METAL SLUG has a new entry in its storied history of classic games today as publisher Dotemu (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, Streets of Rage 4) and developer Leikir Studio (Rogue Lords, Synergy) launch the highly anticipated Metal Slug Tactics, a grid-based tactical adaptation available today for €24.99 on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Game Pass

An homage to an all-time classic, Metal Slug Tactics is fueled with explosive arcade charm as it brings iconic METAL SLUG battles to tactical grid-based strategic gameplay. Get ready to drop in airstrikes, unleash powerful specials and outmaneuver your enemies in more than 20 mission types across 100 fully hand-drawn detailed maps. Perseverance is the key to victory for both newcomers and veterans alike. An electric launch trailer reveals the last two characters of the lineup as they return to the front lines and takes players through what to expect as the game becomes available around the word:

Today’s trailer showcases the Peregrine Falcons Squad undertaking daring missions through scorching deserts, lush jungles, and urban battlefields as they take on General Morden’s lackeys. Battle a variety of enemies while gaining XP by completing objectives and missions to obtain new powers, weapon mods and level-ups – but with great firepower come even greater challenges. Strategic positioning and masterfully executed adrenaline-fueled combos are required to dominate Metal Slug Tactics’ deeply tactical challenges.

The trailer also introduces two additional playable characters, each bringing a unique set of abilities to the fight:

Nadia Cassel makes her debut in Metal Slug Tactics after appearing as a quintessential teammate in several METAL SLUG games in the franchise. Known for her slick robotics and electro-mines, she’s going to pack a hard punch to the enemies she will encounter.
Joining Nadia on the roster is Trevor Spacey, who is no stranger to METAL SLUG games as comedic relief – but with a deadly twist. In Metal Slug Tactics, Trevor has tapped into the power of mind control backed up with powerful ninja skills. Together, Trevor and Nadia will dispatch enemies with galvanic force using iconic weapons from the classics of yesteryear.

Metal Slug Tactics’ launch today sees the return of the musical talents of Tee Lopes (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, Sonic Mania, Streets of Rage 4’s Mr. X Nightmare DLC), and fans can purchase the game’s bangin’ soundtrack digitally through Steam or nab a sweet vinyl release through Kid Katana Records. Lopes’ return to form in Metal Slug Tactics will have players bopping along while they kick ass, drop airstrikes and take names.
