It´s funny how small the world is sometimes. To make a long story short, just the other day we were contacted by the indie studio Mi-Clos Studios which informed us about Keymailer.co. So what exactly is Keymailer then? Well, it´s a free online service which connects Twitch streamers and Youtubers to game publishers and developers. In short, Keymailer hooks you up with free Steam keys in return for good coverage (you get a free Steam key, and you either stream or upload a video for the game in question). And that´s a really excellent concept I have to say, as It gives Youtubers, Twitch streamers and game publishers a truly awesome platform to connect with each other. Not only that, it takes less than five minutes to create an account for Keymailer. So you will be up and running in no time (I did everything with no sweat on my iPAD).
And I have to say that It´s really easy to navigate and find whatever game (s) you’re looking on Keymailer´s site as well (no matter if you use the search function, or go through the “genre”, “developer”, “publisher” or “platform”options). And you got everything from small indie titles to big AAA titles such as “Fallout 4“, “Call of Duty Black Ops 3” to “Just Cause 3“. There is even a separate page (list) for upcoming PC games (that´s an ever-growing list as you might imagine). However, I should point out that the Keymailer site (and service) us just in the beta stage at the moment. So there are quite a lot of work left to be done (bugs, fixes, new features etc). Even so, I´m quite impressed by Keymailer so far (Mark ‘Turpster’ Turpin from Yogscast uses Keymailer for example).
Another thing that´s worthy of a mention is the fact that your odds improve (your chance to get a key for the game you want) if you connect your Twitter, Youtube and Twitch account to Keymailer (as game publishers, then get a fair chance to check out your content before they decide to give you a key that way). And the more followers, views and subscribers you have, the more likely it is that you will get the keys that you request via Keymailer. I (and my brother) have done all of this, so “hopefully” we will get some keys for the games that we would like to review, stream and make movies for.
So I will let you guys and girls know how things have worked out for us as soon as possible (so far, so good though). Until then, you could always check out keymailers homepage and see if it´s your cup of tea or not.
