Nowadays there are a number of popular screen recorders on the market, and two that you have probably heard of in the past are Snagit by Techsmith and Movavi Screen Capture Studio. Both these screen recorders are really quite popular, which is probably why you want to know how they stack up against each other.

If you go over a Movavi Screen Capture Studio and Snagit review, here’s how they compare:

User interface
Both Snagit and Movavi Screen Capture Studio have clean and modern-looking interfaces that are easy to navigate. With simple icons, toggles, and menus it is easy to set up and start recording with either software.

Recording capabilities
Honestly very little separates Movavi Screen Capture Studio and Snagit in terms of their recording capabilities. Both software offer up highly customizable screen recording and will let you define the capture area, frame rate, audio sources, sound levels, and so on. Additionally both will let you record video footage via a webcam, or snap screenshots while you’re recording.

The one feature in Movavi Screen Capture Studio that isn’t present in Snagit is the ability to schedule recordings and automate them. With Snagit your only option will be to manually start and stop the recording.

Editing tools
One of the biggest advantages of Movavi Screen Capture Studio over Snagit is the fact that it has its very own built-in video editor. On the other hand Snagit’s editing tools are very basic, and essentially you will only be able to split videos into segments and trim out unwanted parts.

In Movavi Screen Capture Studio’s editor you can do far more than that, and will be able to enhance the video quality, apply artistic filters, add audio tracks, and much more. It more closely resembles a professional video editor, and will provide you with a ‘Timeline’-based interface to edit your videos.

Customer service and support
Due to their popularity it should come as no surprise that Snagit and Movavi Screen Capture Studio both provide excellent levels of support, including via email, community platforms, knowledgebase resources, and live chat. In short you should be able to access all the information you need at any point in time.

It is worth noting that Movavi Screen Capture Studio has a slight edge due to the fact that its live chat support is available 18 hours a day, whereas Snagit’s is only available 4 hours a day.

Price point
Of the two, Snagit is slightly cheaper with its $49.95 price tag compared to Movavi Screen Capture Studio’s $59.95. However keep in mind that the $10 difference is justified somewhat due to the fact that it has a full-fledged editor in it.

Because both Snagit and Movavi Screen Capture Studio have free trials, you should definitely make it a point to see for yourself what they can do. All in all however Movavi Screen Capture Studio is more comprehensive and has more powerful features, and considering its price isn’t that much higher it should be a good option.
