Today seems to be a very good day for fans of old-school FPS games. Because not only did we get the news about Nerve Software´s upcoming remix/remaster edition of “Dukem Nukem 3D” (“Duke Nukem 3D: World Tour“), I also just found out about DeXiaZ´s super cool “Doom” mod “Plutonia Simulator” as well (the mod was released on the 17th of August this year):
“What if all Doom WADS were like The Plutonia Experiment/PRCP/Plutonia 2? The Plutonia Simulator is the answer to this question! With Plutonia Simulator you can play any PWAD for Doom 1 and Doom 2 or play original Doom 1, Doom 2 & TNT Evilution. Mod changes textures, add 70 tracks which are play randomly in each level. What if you run Plutonia Simulator with… Plutonia itself? I will not say. It’s all up to you to test this! Plutonia Simulator works with latest versions of GZDoom and Zandronum.” – DeXiaZ, the creator of “Plutonia Simulator”
DeXiaZ also added:
“P.S.: We’re planning to make an updated version (v1.1), but it will fix minor things like skies from Plutonia and add more textures from Plutonia. So, that means that a new version will come not so fast…maybe, someone will offer something else…”
In other words, if you like the thought of playing through your “Doom” WADS in a The Plutonia Experiment/PRCP or Plutonia 2 environment. Then you should download and try “Plutonia Simulator” (which is based on the “Plutonia Experiment” chapter from “Final Doom“) as soon as possible with no doubt! (the mod works with latest versions of GZDoom and Zandronum).
