Press release:
Gaijin Entertainment today announced with great joy and thrill that the international contest Gaijin Jam #2 “daScript” will take place from March 1st, to March 31st.

Participants will create games using daScript, which is Gaijin’s powerful open source scripting language. The event will be held online and available to anyone.

Gaijin Jam is a series of hackathons where developers create game prototypes solo or with a team of friends, and the best works will be rewarded with cash prizes. Winners are chosen by prominent game developers, Gaijin employees and jam participants.

Gaijin Jam #2 has an important extra condition: only daScript and dasbox (daScript applications runtime environment) are allowed to create games here, while any other languages, engines and frameworks are forbidden.

“Scripting languages are essential to achieve high productivity in game development”, – explains Anton Yudintsev, co-founder of Gaijin Entertainment.

“daScript language is easy to learn, allows both high performance and high productivity and is available to anyone”.

The registration form is available at the official Discord server of Gaijin Jam: https://discord.gg/WJrJX6wkv6

Gaijin Jam #2 will start on March 1st, at 16:00 GMT when the main jam theme will be announced. The registration is already open on the Discord server, and this is also the place to ask questions about the event and to recruit new team members.

The event activities also include game development lectures from industry experts and streams from games made by jammers. All of those will be announced in Discord and the Facebook group. The jam results will be published on April 15th, and the winners will be chosen in four categories: Best Game, Best Gameplay, Gaijin’s Choice and People’s Choice, with the total prize pool of $20K.

The detailed rules are available at the official Gaijin Jam website and the Discord server. Official website of daScript is available here: https://dascript.org/
