As one day after another blazes past, we start to worry if outdrafts are the name of the game for the current patch.

Team Secret has rolled through each team they have faced so far, securing their place in the grand finals. They emerged out of Group B undefeated, only to further their streak in the playoffs, defeating both VG and EG to secure their place in the Grand Final.

In Group B against iG, Secret repeated their performance at Red Bull Battlegrounds, sweeping them 2:0, finishing game 1 in 32:20 and decisively finishing game 2 in 21:50. It was less of Secret’s dominance, than iG’s inability to work cohesively as a team – they made very odd plays and did not act together to burst Secret’s heroes down, constantly allowing them to get away on 10% or less health.

Secret looks like the team to beat, especially after defeating VG 2:1, two games in a row after dropping the first game to VG’s Bounty Hunter. Team Secret is currently undefeated since Red bull Battlegrounds, on a 7-win streak which does not capture the quality of their streak; as they beat VG, EG, MY, iG and LGD for their wins. The only top-performing team they have yet to beat is Empire, who has also beaten both VG and EG.

Out of the 14 Games played so far at The Summit, only EG vs C9 and Team Secret vs VG posted 2:1 scores. C9 vs EG looked like the most balanced of all series, each team winning 1 game going into game 3. (EG, C9 then finally EG to take the win). Team Secret vs VG was another story, VG winning Game 1 and dropping both games after their bounty hunter was banned in Games 2 and 3.

VG did not counter-ban Chen after their Chen counter, Bounty Hunter was banned out, and this cost them both games. Team Secret’s Chen (jungler played by Puppey) and off lane hero

(played by zai) were their lynchpins to secure the mid-game advantage, which has enabled every team who has obtained it to win the game so far.
