The Mid-West celebration of video games and game music is returning to Minneapolis and offers games, guests and more.

Minneapolis – January 25th – Gamer’s Rhapsody is pleased to officially announce that their annual celebration of everything video games and game music, VGMCon , will be returning to the Sheraton Minneapolis West Hotel this February 22nd – 24th.
The event first debuted in 2014 under the brand of Gamer’s Rhapsody and coined itself an event dedicated to the community and art of video games and game music in the same vein as MAGFest in Maryland.
Since then, the event has evolved its branding and separated into Gamer’s Rhapsody becoming the parent organization, and the event itself being re-named to the music more straight-forward Video Games & Music Convention , or VGMCon.
Since then, a number of talented musical artists and industry guests have been featured at the event, including composer Jake Kaufman ( Shovel Knight, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero ), composer Rich “Disasterpeace” Vreeland ( Hyper Light Drifter, FEZ ), Tim Turi of Game Informer, and VGM
bands such as Do A Barrel Roll! , Super Guitar Bros and Arc Impulse . The event also features video game tournaments, panels and charity speedrunning among other attractions.

The upcoming VGMCon 2019 will be offering another wide variety of things to do and see over the weekend. Composer Chad Seiter ( The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses) be a guest featured at panels and workshops. Local bands Do A Barrel Roll! and Parachute Pandas will be joined by artist 88bit and long-time VGM community icons The OneUps in providing
performances.
Jam Space will be returning for those who wish to bring their own instruments and jam with other musicians. A video game console and arcade room will be open for everyone to sit back and chill playing some games, attendees can sign up for the various game tournaments.
The Mid-Winter Speed Sprinter speedrunning mini-event for charity will also be going on during VGMCon , so stop by and see some pros demolish new and old games alike!
Registration for VGMCon 2019 is currently open and event badges are available for $50 pre-order and $55 at-the-door along with individual day badges available. You can learn more about the event and register for badges and hotel rooms at VGMCon.org .
