I think it’s safe to say that “Duke Nukem Forever” didn’t exactly turn out to be the “Duke Nukem” game that we wanted.
However, thanks to the “Duke Nukem” fans and community, mods, patches and whatnot have kept the Duke series alive long after DNF’s release.
As a matter of fact, believe it or not, but Duke 3D is still very much a thing for gamers all over the world. Even so, I still got quite pleasantly surprised when I just found out that there is now a VR version of “Duke Nukem 3D”.
Yes, you read it right the first time:
“Yup, the original Duke Nukem 3D has been remade in VR thanks to a mod for Serious Sam 3 VR. It’s very well made, I’m quite impressed.” – Ben Plays VR via Youtube
In other words, Duke 3D has been fully remade in VR with the help of a mod for “Serious Sam 3 VR: BFE” (the mod is called “Serious Duke 3D”). Anyways, here’s how you get going with the Duke 3D VR mod for SS3 VR:
2. Install Serious Sam Fusion 2017 (it comes for free with SS3 VR)
3. Get the Serious Duke 3D mod
4. Scroll down and select “subscribe to all” 5. Start fusion in modding mode. (right-click in steam)
5. Now you’re good to go!
So there you have it folks, because that should be enough instructions for you to get going with “SS3 VR” and the “Serious Duke 3D” mod.
And with that said, what’s your take on this VR version of “Duke Nukem 3D”?
