***Update 1 – 2015-06-19 – 14:12 CEST***
Just for clarification, Microsoft won´t make the actual Xbox One hardware backwards compatible. Because there will only be some certain games (360 and Xbox One) that will be detected by the Xbox One (retail and digital games), then you will have to install a patch for those games in-order to make them playable. We are sorry for the misunderstanding!

One of the biggest announcements for E3 2015, was that the Xbox One would be backwards compatible. If you’re like most of us waiting for Sony to answer the challenge and follow suit, you’ll have to keep waiting. According to PlayStation Europe’s Jim Ryan confirmed this. The company will invest in software updates like SharePlay, Play as you Download, and Suspend/ Resume features instead.
This is pretty saddening to gamers, as the one thing that always set Sony apart from the pack was it’s versatility with fans. They always stepped up to the challenge that Microsoft and Nintendo would provide, by giving the fans what they wanted. Period.
To understand that Sony is taking the low road and stepping over dollars to get to dimes, is a startling revelation. It’s not too late however, as Sony can still debut a redesigned system with more memory and follow suit as well. But will they? We’ll have to wait and find out.
