On the 2nd February, Jonathan Blow tweeted out a video of a fan beating ‘The Witness’. “Well done to that guy” I said as I scrolled past the tweet.
A few hours later, I noticed the same video reappearing on my timeline; over and over it was there. Mocking me, daring me to watch. And watch it I did. As it turns out that the video was made by a twitch streamer called Azorae – who is making a name for himself by speed running puzzle games such as ‘Portal’ and ‘The Talos Principle’.
This feat though is his most impressive to date.
Weighing in at a mere 31 minutes at first, I thought it was the end of the game. I was wrong. Very. Very. Wrong! Azorae runs the entire game, from tutorial to credits, with no skips or game breaks in a God-Tier time of 25:53 minutes. To make this even more impressive Youtube user Molbac asks him if he uses a “cheat sheet” (an old-school method of recording solutions on paper) and he simply replies with;
“I’m at the point now where I can do the whole run from memory”
I can’t even…
…unbelievable stuff…
…words do not do this justice.
